Oil stains on tarmac drive

Can anyone tell me how to remove oil stains from a black tarmac drive please?

i don't know how effective it is, but i have read that cat litter is good for absorbing oil spills from drives and patios. i think you just put a thick layer on the stain and wait a few hours. might be worth a try?

My DH puts cement powder on top of the stains I think.
