Morning ALL

THanks for your kind words about Mia. I've had a rubbish nights sleep & feel awful. I've re read the email from Cat Protection People-Its sounds like our vet got it horribly wrong when she was admitted in June. We wouldn't have considered re-homing Mia if we had know this was the outcome. I feel so sad for the couple who took her. They've had Mia since the end of July. I spoke to them mid August & she was doing well. Text them not long after when I got my new phone with contact details. They where supposed to email me pics of her-I should have know then something was wrong

Sorry for the ramble-I know its a pet we are talking a bout & not a real live person. I just need to vent-easy writing down how I feel.

To anyone worried about me, I've remembered why I started cleaning the oven. I had a bowl full of hot soapy water after doing the hand washing up and was looking around for something to clean. I opened the top oven, took out the shelf and then kept going! Phew!

Well, I guess that dd2 (3) has outed me as a Fly-Lurker...

Sorry about the previous post. I was in the shower and dd2 wanted to play CBeebies but the older lot were too busy to help her so she thought that she might try herself.

Hi cadmum I think it's your destiny to join us!
Hi everyone
Having eaten a huge piece of cake I am shattered! Made a really yummy cake this aft out of over ripe pears, the usual 4-4-4-2 cake recipe and a spoon of golden syrup - mm! Would recommend for anyone with a few of those over ripe pears at the bottom of the bowl!
Ikea delivery came at pick up time (of course!) and had to quickly get my mum round to pick up DS. He had his first after school club, Mum said he was crying when she got there, he is just so tired. But he says he really enjoyed it and wants to go back next week - we'll see what he says next week.
DD a bit bored. We managed toddler group this morning as MIL came round to wait for delivery, but had to stay in otherwise, and she really misses DS whilst he's at school. She is ready to go to nursery really.
Well, need to make oatcakes, tidy the kitchen etc, then going to sweep and mop downstairs.
See you all tomorrow, sorry no personals!
EHM You did the right thing with Mia. It's so unfortunate the vet made a mistake. But you could have been in rented accom for ages - you weren't to know! Could you write to the people who took Mia to tell them you feel sorry how things turned out if it helped?

SimplyIsGoingToLearnToFLY · 22/09/2009 19:48

Hello to all.

Please do join us Cadmum!

I've eaten too much today. I've had two puddings - eeek! Please remind me tomorrow that I must excercise some of it off.

See you all tomorrow. Nos da. Good night.

galen · 22/09/2009 20:22

evening all...

Usual chaos this evening... DS2 predictably neded up over tired and more grumpy...

simply you know I think you could be on to something re DS2 ... he was really tired and ready to nap at 11.00 but I kept him up so that I could drop DD4 to nursery at 12.30 and get him to nap after...but think he was just overtired by then...

and swan yes he LOVES going out... everywhere and any where - new places especially...had already been to the woods though... and need to be in the house sometimes LOL May have to llok into more outings etc for him...

Ok someone talk to me about school dinners....still pondering the issue! What do you do for tea if your DC have school dinners.... need some quick easy and healthy inspirational ideas to consider.... am thinking though that it could be something easier than full cooked meal if they have had a dinner...(fantaising about gaining many extra hours by not having to make full and dinner and construct 5 healthy packed lunches every night LOL)...although still dubious of quality of school dinners...

Also those that work outside the home part time what sort of hours do you work?? Am contemplating possible routines for return to work...5 mornings would mean not having to consider afterschool care for older 4 DC whaich would be cheaper and simpler... but then again when I did mornings before it sort of felt like the whole day was gone by the time I was home etc...and I much preffered doing 2/3 full days instead and having 2/3 full free days....but thyen chilcare more complicated and costly....
Any views...(dont have any family nearby so would all have to be paid childcare...and no after school club at the school ...)

Right have lots to sort /ponder / organise and all sort of bouncing round my head making me edgy... so may just go find a choccy bockie instead...

BB tomorrow - hopefully more focussed and up to individual reponses...

OrdinarySAHM · 22/09/2009 21:23

Done:

-clean upstairs toilet
-sorted out my 'admin' papers and put them in a neat tray
-paid credit card bill
-post letter for DH
-1st draft of 'official' letter
-one load of laundry
-put away clean pants and socks
-iron DH shirt
-dishwasher
-look at pictures on net to do with Mexico with kids for school 'Mexico Day' on Thursday
-make sombreros out of paper, cardboard and loads of masking tape for kids to decorate tomorrow

Starbear · 22/09/2009 21:51

Evening all LOL Cadmum
Making soup worked out well tonight as I was so tired when I got in. DH had that I had leftover Fish pie. I do think I cook far to complex meals that mess up the kitchen and cause far to much work.
I need an list of good food to prepare for my family with virtually no cleaning, peeling or mess. So I can get on with other things in my life. I can't bring myself to go to Iceland but......
Wendy You've just reminded me I have a slice of my neighbour's fresh cream & fruit cake in the Fridge yummy. Wish I didn't eat dinner now!
Makingchanges
Going to write two letters & go to bed early V.tired this morning.
have a great day tomorrow

swanriver · 22/09/2009 22:05

Mine have school dinners
BUT every so often they have packed lunches in rotation as a special treat (money saving device)
They never complain about going back to school dinners - I think they get bored of the sandwich option in the end.

However it is getting very very expensive having school dinners, £2 a day here per child although you get the money back if they are ill etc.

We have a balanced meal for supper, but it is sometimes just scrambled eggs on toast and a raw carrot/tomato. I think I don't bother giving them pudding now except fruit because they get sponge pudding etc at lunch.

I think you are right - I tend not to give a substantial evening meal, more a suppery type pasta etc, pie, bake, rice as they have had a hot lunch.

Good luck with the working hours. Could you start with 3 3/4 days just to see how that goes? [Does such a job exist

swanriver · 22/09/2009 22:13

I see there is lots of pudding talk on here tonight.

OSAHM - there we are all with pudding on our minds and you are making Sombreros instead so hats off to you!

Starbear - they call it [whisper] the readymeal
Going to a supermarket is like running the gauntlet
Dh has turned it into an artform - the readymeal which is a takeaway in disguise.

galen · 22/09/2009 22:23

Sat here feeling extremely tired but not ready for slee... sort of stressed and buzzy and frazzled and fuzzy and far too much bumbling round in my head all at once....
going to find a nice book and read for a bit I think...
Really need sleep though

Starbear · 22/09/2009 22:35

Swan wash your mouth out. I need to call it something else!!!!!! I think I'll call it too good to be true... ha!ha!ha! Does it as cooking if you add boiled rice and lots of veg.

Starbear · 22/09/2009 22:36

Night all I have done my two letters. Going to put things in the right place for the morning.
Recyling also done for collection AM.

Jas · 23/09/2009 07:42

I know this should be tomorrows thread but am too lazy/busy/tired to do it

EHM I didn't have a huge emotional attachment with fil so for me, this is probably easier than losing a loved pet....I was in much worse state when my cat died a few years ago.

Don't try and deny yourself the time to grieve

We have the funeral today. I am feeling much more relaxed now all my stuff is done. I am ding my best to give dp the strength to do his job today, and tomorrow my parents are coming to help me get ready for dd2s birthday.

Take care all.

scattyspice · 23/09/2009 08:23
