How to keep internal bathrooms sweet?

My en-suite just smells a bit damp most of the time, despite constant use of the extractor fan/opening the bedroom window whenever we have a shower, and my teeny downstairs loo just smells, well, a bit of wee really. Yuck! And I often sluice the whole thing out with a mop, even to halfway up the walls! I'm starting to wonder if I'm imagining it.

Don't really want to be spraying chemicall-y air fresheners all the time ? anyone got any good tips?

Ta!

We had a similar problem with our downstairs loo - a real strong damp smell. Is there somewhere which is catching and trapping damp? Some boxing in of pipework for example? This was where the damp was being collected for us.

We actually solved it by having the window open all day long for about 4 days over summer, and the problem seems to have gone.
