Miele washing machine question

I need a new washing machine - we have been looking at a Miele (mainly as free 10 year guarentee). They all now seem to have a wash load sensor that works out how much water you need etc. If you (as I do) tend to always stuff in as much as physically possible then will it stil work? I'm worried that some over ride sensor wil keep telling me that I've put way over 7 kg in. Do you have to use this sensor thingy? I can't really go and look at any as we live out in the sticks and it is too far and I need a new one now . Thanks in advance for any advice,

You can't turn the sensor off. I have been trying not to overload as it didn't do our old washing machine any good at all, and am so pleased with new Miele washing machine and tumble dryer I want to look after them.

If you overload a machine it wont get the clothes properly clean and you'll knacker it relativly quickly.

You can't turn the sensors off but they wont stop the machine working either.

Miele are fantastic, the sensors won't turn off, but they are brilliant. Norks is right, don't overload, it doesn't help your clothes or any type of machine.

I have had some pretty huge washes (I have 3 kids and a dh who cycles everywhere and gets smelly and muddy in equal measures) through our Miele and the sensor has never gone off. Having said that, if you do really cram in everything you physically can, then you perhaps should try a new laundry regime - you're not doing the machine or the clothes any favours. The miele is fab and yes, the 10 yr guarantee swung it for us too. We have had it for 4 years and not a jot of problem with it. Worth the money IMO.

I covet a Miele, but can also recommend Siemens. I bought one 5 years ago, which has put up with all the abuse I give it (sometimes overstuff it), and again not a jot of bother with it. It came with a 5 year warranty (which I think is just about expired).

Try not to stuff your machine too full tho'. Apart from anything else, it's sooooo depressing, to keep pulling stuff out of the machine, and feel someone is putting more clothes in at the back

thank you - the cramming too full is partly because my dds cat keeps weeing everywhere so we often have to wash several duvets and pairs of curtains a day

Evict the cat, NOW.

I can get a single wee-covered duvet in the miele, no problem.

we can't - it is my daughter's cat and she is very, very attached to it.
