Trying to stay calm!
DD1 throwing a wobbly yet again!
She wants to go to Rainbows with DD2.
I said to get out of school uniform and get sensible play clothes on.
She comes down in her best party dress!
Now she is having a strop because i said she can't wear it because they will be making masks! She is always in a bad mood, i can't cope with this every bloody day.

Starbear · 08/09/2009 17:24

Tort Feel for you. Ds turns on the waterworks when he doesn't get his own way! Like today lovely day at school. Bad temper because he had a biscuits instead of a jam sandwich (he wanted both) Waterworks when I said he could play with water but I wasn't going to join in with a water fight! You would have thought I cut off his arm by the sound of him. I just let him stew personally and I try not to give in (well today anyway!)

Ds did have a lovely day at school and said he would like to go tomorrow! Very strange feeling I was too early to collect him so looked like a banana until another mum from his class arrived!
Clean Bathroom done
Ran around with a bit of polish!done
Turned on oven forgot roasting tin in oven from Sunday's Roast pots so house now smells of burnt oil. Nice!
tea sausages pots & peas for Ds (exhausted needs to go to bed early! ??? for us
Paper work needs to be done tonight
see ya later!

ActingNormal · 08/09/2009 18:36

You all sound lovely and thank you for being so welcoming!

iron shirt for DH for tomorrow - DONE

write birthday card for DS's friend - DONE

wrap birthday present for DS's friend - DONE

collect DS from school 11.15 as he has only just started and is doing half days -DONE

take DS to see birthday boy friend - DONE

come back in time to collect DD from school - got there just in time!

Then

Washed towels

filled in school forms for different things

did DD's reading book with her while DS climbed on my back and said I was a horse!

did bubble baths for kids

cooking shepherds pie

I'm running late because a friend emailed me asking my thoughts on a serious issue which I answered at length with huge amounts of verbal diarrohea! She wasn't part of today's timetable!

You're right about these school half days - you can't get a huge amount done in the childfree time, especially after arsing around on Facebook and Mumsnet wasting half the time!

Makingchanges · 08/09/2009 18:38

Evening all

Well first day at nursery went ok - She was really keen when she got there and saw her friend from last year but when she came out she told me she was good as she didn't shout for me when she wanted me, she just waited for me to come so now I feel a little sad that she wanted me and I wasn't there.

Made it up to her by making pizzas together for tea - bought her a new rolling pin whilst I was out though as last time she used the one she uses for play dough

Welcome to actingnormal - I'm new but was made to feel really welcome. I'm sure you'll love it here.

Hope you enjoy the extra time simply - I gave up my job recently but haven't yet found any spare time as i'm just so disorganised.

Inbetween the nursery saga managed to get a couple of loads of washing done - needed to do an emergency one when dd came home covered in red paint. I've also been on phone all afternoon (so much for time to do housework) sorting out my school volunteering work. Had a problem with references for one when they hadn't been received (since July) so had to chase that but back in school with another tomorrow - was hoping for the week off.

Not much other housework done today though - Apps for PGCE course opens tomorrow so I've been working on my personal statement today - Have done two drafts - both 3 pages of random drivel so going to work on that again tonight when dd goes to bed and DH comes home (whereever he is - switched his phone off again so cold pizza for him)

Evening all

I have had one of those days. I am seriously pissed at mother, she refused to watch DS2 so no counselling for me.

Everything has been to rushed, not into the swing of this school thing, it is such a melee when I collect DS1

DS1 loves it and runs in excitedly leaving DS2 in tears for his big brother

Anyway tomorrow will be better, as we have friend coming straight after school
then swimming
then shopping

Prof You will always be rubes to me too

I will mail galen to see if all is OK in Real Life, as I am missing her too

wendyhappysmile · 08/09/2009 20:14

TM Poor you, shame one of us lot isn't nearer to help out when your mum is being a Contrary Mary. (Is that dialect?! Sorry)
swan I LOL at your Aunt and her double barrelled name!
Prof We love you whether you're Prof or Ruby! What's the scarf like?
Changes I am a secondary English teacher (well, not worked for 2 years whilst looking after dc) and could look over your personal statement if you like? Have done millions of them as form tutor to 6th formers and also interviewed for dozens of jobs; and mentored PGCE students on teaching practice so should be ok to run my eye over it.
DS beastly as all have said after school. Ho hum. At least he enjoyed it though and said he ate every scrap of school dinner (one of my worries).
See you all tomorrow

I am OK, just finding agjusting hard - but am realistic as ever

wendyhappysmile · 08/09/2009 20:40

Ruby! Scarf is very chic, very French. Good choice for substitute Paris buy. I like those scarves but never wear them, must try!
Just spent an hour chopping down bushes and trees at front of house - green recycling bin tomorrow! Looks worse, but will be better iyswim.
Really am going this time. Been ripping CDs to iTunes.
See you tomorrow

ActingNormal · 08/09/2009 21:17

Had an extra task after kids gone to bed - remembered that DS had covered his school shirt in yellow and green paint and a strange greenish greyish scum - just from being their for half a day! He does make me laugh

So had to iron him another one for tomorrow.

Profiterole, what do you mean about adjusting my behaviour? Have I said something bad already?!

galen · 08/09/2009 21:46

Hellooooo all! Sorry for prolonged absence....last weeks and half of school hols sort of overwhelmed us LoL
Has been a serious lack of flying here for 7 weeks - but am getting back in the groove slowly as of Monday.

We also got a new little puppy on Sun. She isnt a tiny babe - she's 6 1/2 months old - and is gorgeous. She is a crossbreed (not sure what LOL)who was originally adopted from a rescue where she was abandoned when she was born
We have rehomed her as her (lovey) owner has got a new job, with very long hours and overnight trips so cant keep her.

Anyway more about that tomorrow....

Am really looking forward to getting back to this thread - and all you wonderful ladies!
Oh and to getting back to my routines and FLYing as well LOL

Hope all those with little ones having first days got on OK. My first born baby has just started Big school He has to go on a bus all alone - he has been totally fine, I have been a nervous wreck LOL

Anyway better dash now (still laundry to reboot LOL)- will catch up properly with you all tomorrow

galen · 08/09/2009 21:53

oh so sorry all...just seen you were missing me awwww . You are all so lovley! I am fine -Just 6 DC and DH under your feet all day dont leave much time for MNing.....LOL
Anyway so glad to be back

Will report in bright and early tomorrow - promise! Am needing much motivation for getting fluttering again - house a bit of a wreck from the tribe around so much too LOL

Oh and Prof - how was DLP - will browse back through threads , but hope you had a fabby time!

galen · 08/09/2009 22:01

mad just browsed at your blog again - you are such an inspiration! So creative - Fab! {grin]

ISimplyCantPostFreelyAnyMore · 08/09/2009 22:32

Hello everyone. Okay. I must be quick as 1. I need to be up and somewhere by 8.30am tomorrow and 2. The effects of drinking a glass of red wine will kick in soon!

RR How fab to see you and know that it is you! I've not been on much for quite some time as I didn't want my au pair(s) to know about MN so posted infrequently and once they went home and I didn't replace the second one (two was enough for me!) then I didn't have time to post much. As you're my style guru, I'll post a piccie of the dress and shoes I'm wearing to a "do" this w/e as I need to know what tights to wear and what handbag style to use. I have almost unworn girls' socks which are white but I think they are bigger than 9 to 12. They measure around 7" from the heel to the toe. If you want me to post them off to you, I'm happy to. I could CAT you or you me to get your address.

galen Good to see you! I remember my gorgeous dog being a puppy. She sometimes whined as she wanted to see us at 6am and she took a while to get house trained. Hopefully yours has already gone past that stage. What mix of breeds do you hazard a guess that yours is? Heinz57?

ActingNormal If you behave normally then you might stick out like a sore thumb on this thread! That was what was meant.

Lovely thoughts TM in your blog. I've been through quite a bit too and agree that life would be a strange thing if it was always summer. In fact, when we've been somewhere quite warm on hols in Feb, Oct or at Easter) then I've thought that lovely as it is to have the warmth for a week which undoubtedly does me the world of good, I'd hate to live somewhere that didn't have the seasons I'm less keen on (like winter because cold causes me problems) as otherwise I wouldn't feel hopeful and grateful when spring arrived. Does that make sense?

go Sometimes being bored but rested is necessary. Good for you on being sensible and keep on being kind to yourself.

Right. I'm halfway down this glass of wine so I'll sign off. Nos da pawb. Good night all.
