Think something taken the vanish off my oak dining table what should i do?

im not reall sure what it is but there a dull almost whitish stain on my table. Im thinking something been spilt on it and had taken the shine/varnish off. If i wet it it blends back in with the rest of the table. What can on use on oak to remove marks and bring the shine back out?

Well, this sounds insane to me, but is apparently true. Rub in a small amount of smooth peanut butter to the stain, leave in for 5-10 minutes, and then rub off the remains.
