fragranced candles

Hi everyone,

Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on some good quality fragranced candles?

I usually use Yankee large jar candles but find them so hard to burn, I follow all the usual instructions but still some of them tunnel and never reach a full wax pool. Got fed up of buying them and then a found a fab candle called Swan Creek but these are really hard to get in the UK.

Have had a good search on google to try to find another brand of good quality highly fragranced candles but cant seem to find any, lots of American sites come up and they look fab but their shipping charges are so expensive.

Just wondered if anyone knew of any good ones apart from Yankee?

fairiesandcupcakes I've bought Milkhouse Creamery Candles. I tried a starter set from QVC.
There was a vanilla candle in a little glass milkbottle (lovely scent, really cute bottle which we kept to use for milk after washing.) A lemon cheesecake-lovely, an apple crumble-gorgeous. And my favourite, a hazlenut praline.
I went on the website and bought hazelnut praline large jar.
They burned cleanly, didn't get the tunneling.

Then I bought 2 large jars from QVC- a vanilla-nice. And Amaretto Cranberry.Which smelled like baby wipes -bleurgh. CBA to return as P&P quite alot.

I was put off soy candles a few years back when I bought a set of Christmas scents (can't remember the brand) and they were vile.

I usually buy Yankee.

I love the Yankee ones have a vanilla one in our living room and a "Christmas Eve" one ready for December. I'd LOVE to make my own but have no idea where to begin! Also sorry to be naive but why are the candles bad for you? Blush

I'm not keen on Yankee candles, I find them quite paraffin-y smelling and they don't burn all the way through/down.

I love PartyLite candles, the fragrances are gorgeous and they really do burn cleanly. I buy them on Ebay or stock up when a friend has a party. They last ages and work out good value IMO.

I adore Tamboti Safari and the fresh/clean scents.
