Persil non-bio tablets - in machine or net?

My box of Persil non-bio tablets now recommends that they are placed in the drawer of the washing machine and not directly in the drum in a net. But my washing does not seem to be as clean this way. Has anyone else noticed any difference?

I have obviously not read the intructions recently, I always put them in a net in the washing machine drum.

The new boxes do not now come with nets - maybe I can buy one on Ebay!

Have you tried putting them directly in the drum not in a net?

Don't put them in the drum without the net! You will end up with white powdery streaks on your clothes!

I have some spare nets if you want me to send you one or two?

Ohhh, OK - I use Simply sensitive which aren't proper tablets, they have one of those thin plastic membranes which dissolves - they work fine without a net.
