I got one of the cheapest ones at Christmas. The kids love it and the cat, who was very wary at first, now ignores it. You do have to clear the rollers of hair every couple of uses but it does a pretty good job. It plays a sad little tune if it gets trapped in furniture or falls off a step upside down!

Yes you need to empty it's little bucket after every go round usually. It is always full of dog hair in this house.
