How can I clean the tray bit of my washing machine?

One of the sections is full of water and is gross. I don't know how to get rid of the water so I can clean it.

Pull the whole thing out and wash it in the sink - you may have to push down on a bit of it, or do a bit of manipulation to get it out, but they are generally completely removable.

mine comes out and I put it in the dishwasher. The fabric cond bit is always very gunky.
