Can I put trainers in the tumble dryer?

DD's had a water fight yesterday in teh garden and their trainers are still soaked. I have hung them on the line but they are not going to dry fast enough to wear them to the park ina few hours, how wrecked will they get if I tumble dry them?
They are flashing peppa pig plasticky ones and some plain white ones.
They'll melt, won't they?

I have done this in the past and they have survived and so has the tumble dryer! Probably wont flash anymore. It will make an awful noise, but it does work in an emergency. Mine have never melted!

Yes you can tumble dry them. The flashy bits should be ok but having dried a pair of winking dinosaur slippers, they sort of stare rather than wink now.

Thanks, DH took them out in crocs (DD1) and some old doodles that he 'found' so they are still on the line.
But I will definately tumble them next time!
