Oven cleaner that actually works?

My oven is a disgrace. We are moving next week and I am ashamed to leave it in that state for incoming tenants.

If I had more time and money I would hire one of those fab steam cleaner companies, but every penny is accounted for atm.

Could anyone recomend a good product? I have always bought the "non toxic" and "greener" products in the past, but they have been rubbish really. My ethics/ green credentials can take a back seat on this one. I need strong chemicals!

I have used oven mate before.

I think it was cheaper in Robert Dyas than Lakeland though.

You paint it on and then leave it to do it's stuff before wiping all the gunge off. It's messy and takes a while though worked well.

Have you called the oven cleaning companies to see how much they charge? It was not as much as I thought it would be but a while ago now that I had them out.
