Anyone have a gas/electric range that they LOVE?

I have a totally rubbish one that is constantly breaking down, the grill has been broken for a year and I can't get anyone to fix it.

So, I'm going to go for a new one, had more or less decided on a Rangemaster, but the grill on it seems very shallow and a the pan is too close to the element so that has really put me off.

It's a major investment, so I love some recommendations, please

My mum has a large Stoves range and loves it. My friend has a Stoves which is a bit smaller than mums and she also loves it. Both are all gas.

I have a 25 year old traditional gas cooker which I wouldn't change for anything!

Thanks for the stoves recommendation, will have a closer look at them.

Anyone else?

Don't want to spend a fortune on another mistake!

I have a Belling and I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy! Only cooker I've ever had to have repaired - 3 times in 9 years.

i have this one, it's the cheaper end of the market but we picked it as new world are made by the same parent company as stoves, and the other main brand in this price bracket was beaumatic, and at the time, they did not have many good reviews. love my range, have had no problems with it, good for baking cakes.

I know how you feel Bodengroupie

The one we have now is Newworld, it has given us trouble since the day we bought it!The thermostats on both ovens have been replaced but they still are 60 degrees hotter than we set them, so we now bake cakes at 120 or lower, but even then they are inclined to burn and dry out. The grill has been broken for over a year, and no matter how often I try to get it fixed the part is always 'out of stock'

Glad yours has been good lucykate!

It was the worst waste of money ever, that's why I don't want to make another expensive mistake.

lucykate · 14/07/2009 11:32

macherie , oh dear!, it's not the same one we've got is it?!

macherie · 14/07/2009 13:53

No, lucykate it's not as goodlooking as yours! It's about 7 years old, but I didn't expect to be replacing it so soon.

The rangemaster excell is the one we are thinking of getting.
