Cat hair on dark coloured duvet cover - help!!

Hello all
I recently bought a lovely plum coloured duvet cover; possibly a bit crazy as we have 3 cats, but we usually keep the bedroom door shut. My DH managed to leave the door 'open a crack, that's all!' while we were out and my lovely grey girl promptly sneaked in and made herself at home....!
There were huge patches of grey/white hair everywhere. I removed the worst using a lint roller then put it through a wash - eek! Big mistake! The entire thing is now covered with little white hairs, top and bottom. Any ideas? I really don't want to chuck it, as it's brand new! Lint roller doesn't have any effect. Please help!!

try brown parcel tape puting it on then ripping it off quickly rather like waxing!!! should get rid of the hairs hope it helps

Brilliant, thank you will try that. Have some extra strong gaffer tape in the cupboard so will give that a go. LOL have just texted DH that I am waxing the duvet! His response? 'Oh FFS.....'

TBH I don't think there is any way of ever really getting all of them off completely. You can try with tape, wrap it around your hand a couple of times to make yourself a sort of handy sticky pad and that'll get some of them off. Hoovering with the nozzle attachment might work for some of them. Another wash might get a few more off too and line drying in the wind could help?

I have white point tortoiseshell so she's white, tan and black and I have resigned myself to always having cat hair on whatever I am wearing and whatever I own and often whatever I am eating and no matter colour it is it will always show.

Stripes - so true! I seem to have spent most of my life covered in some kind of animal hair! You just get used to it, don't you, they're worth it.

I (so sensibly!) have a white duvet cover and a black cat and a tabby cat. Great combination. The only think I have found that does anything is hoovering it! I just hoover it every time I do the bedroom. You do need to get as much as you can off before washing as otherwise, like you have found, it just spreads the hairs all over it instead of just in the patch they were lying!

put it in the tumble drier on its own - it may need a couple of times but usually the hairs come off the laundry and into the lint trap.

of take it to a launderette and put it on its own in one of their huge tumble driers.

i have a Grey cat - dark bedding combo too and this approach usually works.

hoovering works, but tuck the opposite side under the mattress so it holds tight when you hoover it. (or get a begrudging DH to hold it!)

and i think Kim and Aggie suggest running a wet rubber glove over sofas to get hair off, could work on your bed.

Thanks everyone, really appreciate all the help. Have got most of them off with the sticky tape, but will give the tumble dryer at the launderette a go to finish it off. Hoovering it regularly's a great tip too- will give that a go!
