I've given up trying to understand some things and some people TM. My dsis (the occasional MNer one who used to be on this thread sometimes but kept the fact incognito that she's my dsis (can't think why! ) is brill. When she comes to stay she always gets on with something that needs to be done.

My to do list is untouched but I have stripped our bed and put a load of washing on and found b/d cards (I have boxes of cards all labelled i.e. b/d, thank you, wedding/engagement/anniversary) for everyone who I send to who has a birthday in the next 3 weeks.

I'm not hungry but I suppose I'd better have lunch sometime!

Knickers0nMaHead · 10/07/2009 13:42

Sorry, didnt mean to rub faces in it. I think my mil is trying to make up the fact that i do not have a mum.

Knickers0nMaHead · 10/07/2009 13:44

tm, that soft play looks ace!

SimplyIsATalentedBuzzard · 10/07/2009 14:03

Hey KOMH I don't mind, really! And you and I have something on common as my Mum passed away a long time ago. Knowing me, I'm going to go overboard the other way if I become a g/mother.

Lunch time over. Back to (house)work!

I am so lacking in motivation today! Thank goodness for this thread.

To do:-
~ ironing
~ finish the paperwork that's littering the kitchen
~ post some stuff back to John Lewis and order some replacements
~ put financial paperwork in the files they belong

Knickers0nMaHead · 10/07/2009 16:02

swanriver · 10/07/2009 17:36

thee garden centres Wolf what did you get - something particular...although it is annoying when you have a scheme in mind and the most obvious component is not in stock... I only found my dark red petunias after much rummaging.

now this afternoon we are heading for lackadaisical
but have staggered out to hang another load of washing on line
and noticed that everythng is dying of thirst
and dug some potatoes out of curiosity! They aare ready Maybe I will leave some for another week or two but pots and bacon tonight instead of pasta..

Also now need to drag dd from Oliver and do some vp with her for tomorrow.

Also quickly hoover ds1's room for poss guests

Potatoes (Arran Pilot) are all v. Large . Ds1 is totally disinterested, but dd hs showed a bit of enthusiasm. Hope they don't taste of plastic trug.

Re REPORTS: Everyone (who can read) in our school is utterly flummoxed by the ratings, and pushy parents were berating their children for getting "c"s when in fact they had gone to next level, ie; 4c is better than 3a. The jargon is never explained in words of one syllable, and we all finally work it out, only to forget it in time for next year

Perhaps fractions are sort of metaphysical, and philosophical whereas subtraction is jsut plain spadework. She is a creative thinker
