Dyeing over bleach marks

I have a lovely pair of cotton cropped trousers which I've now ruined by wearing them while cleaning the toilet with bleach! [grrrrrrr emoticon] There are a number of small bleach marks towards the bottom of one leg.

I was thinking of dyeing them from light khaki to say dark brown. Will the bleach marks take the dye the same? Anyone had a positive result from doing this?

I'm pretty sure the dye will not take in the bleached parts. See here. Sorry.

The spots aren't huge. Just a number of little ones here and there at the bottom. I guess I've nothing to lose...!
