Like it says in the title.

I have one of those American fridge freezers. My fridge is 4 degrees, i know that's fine but DP has only just informed me that lately he's been hearing a 'noise' like 'tapping' from the freezer hes only heard it 2 or 3 times over 2 or 3 days.

Now he's mentioned this as this morning I went to the freezer and a pizza was soft, I figured, it was a pizza it was thin, I'd open and close the door thinking I had left it slightly ajar perhaps.

I have gone there about 10 minutes ago, it's still reading minus 21 but everything has defrosted, the ice cubes, the cornish pasties, the pizza, the chicken, everything.

What has happened, why, what, how, when, is basically what i'm asking, -21 is good right?? or is that terribly bad. I went on Yahoo questions and there's some faff on there about how it 'depends' .

TIA ladies

Lets just say I have one.

Google "Samsung fridge freezers on Watchdog" - all will be revealed.

(Samsung did repair mine, free of charge, even though it wasn't the same model featured on Watchdog, but it took about 3 weeks of fannying around to get it done).

You can also search the Mumsnet archives, there's lots on here too .

I'm slightly puzzled. Your freezer must be quite confused if it thinks its at -21 when everything has defrosted.

Yep we have a samsung and I thought the same thing when I clicked. We had the same problem, which is when I found out that they're known for this.

They repaired mine because it was still under warranty.
