It is always salutary to come on this thread and see how others are coping..
I was about to start complaining angrily about somethng minor, but now feel like I should and can start [well I know its 10.30] more constructively

Done
dts and dh to church
ds1 is in bed recovering from headache and sore throat
I've made two beds
helped move a cupboard downstairs
started tidying playroom

Need to
completely recharge for 10 mins and regain good humour after insomniac episode at 5.30 -worrying about something at at party yest to do with cupcakes, ridiculous ridiculous

make a delicious lunch that dh likes
take an aspirin
read my gardening book
curtains
laundry

in that order - then they will return for lunch

SimplyIsATalentedBuzzard · 05/07/2009 12:34

Hello to all. Just a quickie as I need to sort stuff out at home. Dd did a big tidy up in the kitchen yesterday, bless her. Btw, I openly admit I'm on this thread without being a FLYer as I very rarely check the website and I don't do missions. I use it for friendship and support and therefore the fact that I have complete tips in several rooms isn't a reflection of FLYing at all. So....as I was saying, dd tidied up the kitchen hugely yesterday. It looks great.

gibb I have an under active thyroid and take daily thyroxine for it. I'd second scattyspice's suggestion and advise you to get a blood test to check iron levels and check your thyroid out.

swanriver Good on you for your gardening success. I've got black fingers not green ones, so I'm impressed!

Bbl.

Starbear · 05/07/2009 12:34

swan My garden is my sanity that's why I was so cheesed off last year with the rain.
Off to the park

SimplyIsATalentedBuzzard · 05/07/2009 12:38

P.S. galen I've been where your dh is now. I can understand him wanting to potter quietly with people around in the background rather than communicating much directly with them. It's a lot to get one's head around, facing losing a parent. My children were very small at the time and I had to keep going as the main carer and it was hard. I also had the problem of living a large distance away. to you both.

grouchyoscar · 05/07/2009 13:54

Galen: You are allowed self piting waffle here you know (not that you are being, you understand) I have a huge SP overdraft here and the FLYlady Bank haven't even started charging fees . A DH with an awful situation and 6dcs, you are one amazing lady and whatever we can do to help is what we're here for, not just housework.

Hello you lot

Having a bit of a break, Poor sleep and it wasn't down to M.Insomnia but hot n stuffy bedroom followed by early wake up down to a lively Ed (cheers love ). So

DONE

Pack up my bivouac in the front room
Help Ed with the solar syatem jigsaw (really hard, it's oval so no corners and no big pic on the box to work too )
Start to 'encourage' Ed to tidy his room (by loading messy stuff into bin liners and taking them outside )
Tidy front room
Clear breakfast stuff away
Bring down washing
Empty and load WM
Sort for drying
Ironing (tho timing the task to 'ISIHAC' on Radio 4 makes it less onerous)
Uniform ready for tomorrow
Tidy kitchen and take clothes upstairs
Grab a shower

TO DO

Reading homework
Make lunches for tomorrow
Get bags together
general tidy round

Wolf I know what you mean re bruises on toddlers, Ed looked badly treated when he was 2. He was going to a Surestart nursery and I'd think 'what must they think I do to him?'

Swan Take it easy
Gibb I've got him 'How do dinosaurs tidy their room?' too Wonder if there's 'How does a Mummy make a bookcase bigger?' as buying kids books are my guilty pleasure

Oh heck, better check my eBay BBL

scattyspice · 05/07/2009 15:34

Hi guys .

Have imposed a no tv/playstation/comp rule from 10-3 so haven't been able to pop in until now ( didn't think that one through very well). Dc have run riot through house and garden so place is in chaos ( really didn't think it through).

DD has reached an important milestone. She can now reach the outside tap! So I can look forward to a long hot summer lounging in a deckchair without having to get up and fill up her tea pots every 2 mins .

Done:
bought ds bd presents (from us, granparents, aunties etc).
changed dc beds
ironing

To do
put on tv, playstation a comp and sort out house and garden lol.

TheMadHouse · 05/07/2009 15:38

Afternoon all

galen I just want to echo what everyone on here is saying regarding somewhere to offload. It is a godsend and feel free - we all do. It must be hard on all of you at times like this. Losing a parent is very hard, but when you have children I think it brings its own significance into play.

Star Biking soulds goos, we are looking to start again once the boys are a bit bigger

Swan My berlotti's have failed, but I have over a dozen courgettes or marrows

Simply You can be part of our cult without checking the web site

Groucy we are each other again with the books my dear

Wolf I hope the bottom end isnt too bad today

Well we had a good night with our little charges. Baby O didnt wake for a feed till 4am , then again at 6.30. But my two woke H up at 5.30

We had a busy morning and lunch with them all and baby O made sure he poo'd all over DH . It made us really realise our family wasnt complete though. DS1 loves baby's and told his daddy thatg babys are keen on him.

DS1 has been stung and it was horrible hearing him scream, they are both asleep on the couch now.

I have the ironing, evening stuff and dinner to do - phew

OP posts:
TheMadHouse · 05/07/2009 17:17

Boys have been bathed and the toad in the hole is nearly ready - yummy

Half the ironing is done

I need to get their clothes out for tomorrow and have a bath too

OP posts:
littleboyblue · 05/07/2009 19:41

Evening all
Just finished cleaning the kitchen and have swept and mopped living room.
Ds2 is asleep, ds1 is screaming and keeps getting out of bed. Dp is just putting him back and not saying anything to him. Hope he calms down soon.

grouchyoscar · 05/07/2009 19:59

nighty night all. Jobs don e so tomorrow is a new day

Starbear · 05/07/2009 20:31

Very late today. Dh giving ds his bath before storytime (me)
Pumpkin stew & garlic bread for dinner & stawberries & ice cream.
Left overs in container and back in fridge.
We are emptying out fridge & freezer before hols. Repairman said that the thing needs to be switched off for a week for it to run at its best. So weird meals for the next 11 days.
Tonight
put clothes in dryer
prepare next load for morning
paperwork
Buy presents online to take to Spain cross fingers they arrive on time (Why didn't I do this weeks ago!!!

littleboyblue · 05/07/2009 20:51

I need to do the ironing. I've been putting it off and off again and now I have nothing to wear tomorrow so needs to be done now. I'm going to do it the FLY way and set my timer. 30 minutes sounds reasonable

swanriver · 05/07/2009 21:20

Agree about having nothing ironed to wear LBB, although some of my clothes iron themselves once on

An amazing thing happened, after a delicious lunchdh suddenly suggested we move ALL the furniture for the ds2 room change project.
So we covered house in chaos for a while, dust and boxes everywhere, dts miraculously played happily downstairs, and ds1 tired enough not to be a problem till 4.00 then tranquillized further by telly, AND IT IS ALL MOVED, and ds2 (dd too on floor in her sleeping bag ) has a clean tidy new room.
Only took five hours I reckon.

Now I'm doing a major paperwork chuck, starting with the schoolwork, keeping only selected highlights, a real nostalgia trip back to Reception Years.
Boxes of grownup papers still to sort upstairs.

littleboyblue · 05/07/2009 21:23

swan wow, take it easy.
I'm meeting one of the mum's of my post-natal thread in Kingston tomorrow and need to be out the house by 9am, or else I'd just iron an outfit whilst ds1 had breakfast, but might be rush rush rush in the morn

swanriver · 05/07/2009 21:37

Starbear, 11 days for presents sounds like forward planning to me
pumpkin stew and garlic bread sound delicious
I'm leaving on 15th so I must thnk about defrosting my poor freezer too and removing all those strange oddments collecting there. LLuckily dh will still be here to eat leftovers.
Scatty, teapots in garden sound v. civilized, better than waterpistols, or worse still waterbombs made of showercaps - today's invention.

Starbear · 05/07/2009 22:06

Dare I ask? LBB Kingston-upon-Thames or Kingston-upon-Hull or another Kingston?

littleboyblue · 05/07/2009 22:07

I sorted my freezer out the other day. I have in there now, a bag of chips, some turkey drummers, a bag of mixed veg, a bag of peas and a box of choc ices.
Can I make a meal with that? lol
I'm trying to keep it empty to encourage me to cook from fresh mpre often. I should really get some back up meals in there though for when the dinner I cook is nasty like tonights was. Ds1 ate it, but me and dp didn't like it at all. We ended up having chips with grated cheese.

Ironing is done. Yay.
