Hello to all. Just a quickie as I've stuff to do before my early start tomorrow morning.

swanriver It's great that you've done as much as you have for the children by debating the issue at PTA meetings. I can appreciate that the school has demands on the money it is provided with but I still think that the school has to be able to do something extra in the event of "freak events" when they're not a one day a year type of thing i.e. if a heatwave is expected lasting a week then I'd expect the school to address that issue once the forecast is made, not to hope for the best that no child is affected by heat or sun stroke by the normal measures that they make which are only really suitable for hot weather and not heatwaves. I don't know if I've explained what I mean or if that is as clear as mud!

scattyspice I work in a building overlooking the sea so that's how we spent a few minutes yesterday admiring the dolphins or porpoises in the bay. My job doesn't involve me getting wet, apart from y hands when I wash up my coffee mug! I'm glad your headache is much better.

TMH So pleased to hear that your ds1 is a bright child. What particular interests does he have at home?

Not been a bad day. Did all on my list apart from the blood test I even managed the ironing! Shocking.

2 little friends home after school till 6pm
finished book club book in nick of time
went to book club and had a good discussion
