So - what's so special about the top shelf of the dishwasher?

All that plastic baby feeding stuff always says "top shelf only"

Why?

nothing falls/drips ontop? Then don't fall down...?

Because it is futhur from the heating element so less direct heat hopefully means lack of distortion / melting

I always thought it was because it gets hotter.

Maybe because the steam rises? They get the hottest bit? I really dunno

I mean it is not so hot

it's because the hottest water comes from the bottom of the dishwasher, and many babycare items can't deal with the hottest temperatures. I think.

things dont get so hot and are less likely to melt or distort on the top shelf
