What am I doing wrong??

Machine is getting on in years but still working fine, really.

I use Tesco non-bio tabs and no fabric softener, never have.

Am I overloading the machine do you think??

Possibly. Try running your washing machine empty but with detergent in on a hot cycle - see if that clears it. Sounds like your washing machine could be filthy inside.

Also clear the lint trap, regurgitated lint on clothes is not only horrid but will kill your machine if left untreated.

I get that from time to time, especially if I use a short cycle. Think it just the powder not getting rinsed off properly. Try using less tabs? or switch to powder so you can adjust the amount more easily?

happens to me when I have overloaded the machine, and also when it needs a hot cycle with just vinigar in, so 'clean' the machine IYGWIM.

tis like a build up of the crap coming back thru the drum.

have you emptied the filter recently?? that helps too with mine.

You might want to think about ecoballs from Lakeland, I got some (was v dubious) but haven't used washing powder since and I've had them for a year and still not had to refill them and we do a lot of washing.

Thanks, I do clean the filter from time to time. It's a foul job, although last time I did find a pound coin in there, bonus!

Yes, I'll clean the filter again.

How much vinegar do I put in the hot wash to clean the machine??

Perhaps I should just be using one tab instead of two?? Does anyone do this?

I've switched to using only half the amount of powder I was using before and no obvious deterioration in cleanliness... still get the odd streaky mark but only on one pair of trousers, taken to putting them on a 2nd rinse.

I also attempt to run an empty boil wash no powder once a month. Don't always remember but certainly cleans it out as managed to drain chilli leftovers into machine from sink!! Wondered what brown water and chilli smell was (eek)
