Can anyone recommend any? Have been on King Of Cotton, looking at maybe 800 count? Is Egyptian cotton better normal cotton? I have 200 count sheets on beds in the spare room but find them a nightmare to iron and a little on the thin side, also have cotton sateen jacquard in our room which is nice and thick but it's went a bit 'brushed' looking.

Am looking for plain latte coloured (or cream with latte piping etc) with a high thread count but also well priced and lasts a long time?

Any help or advice is much appreciated

Have always gone to John Lewis for cotton sheets but they are only about 400 count I think.

this was the only place i'd found for 800 count sheets and it's not cheap so went for 400 instead which come up really nice for us.

Head to QVC and type in Northern Nights. Loads and loads of sets there ranging from 300-600 TC. They have lovely latte colours too.

I love King of Cotton stuff, it's brilliant quality and their customer service is excellent. I am not employed by them.

I have 200, 400, 1000 and 1600 thread count sets (the last a limited edition from KofC) and the 1000 is actually my favourite set. It's a pain to wash, because the fabric is so thick you can't wash the duvet cover at the same time as the sheet and pillowcases (well, not in my domestic washer anyway) and if you have to tumble dry it you have to haul it out of the drier every ten minutes as it rolls into a ball (well, it does in my domestic, 11 year old drier). But they dry OK on the line, on a good day, and I think they're worth the bother in any case, because each wash just makes them softer and more gorgeous to stretch out on...

sighs happliy and rushes off to bed

Oh thanks ladies!

I think I will try the KoC stuff and see how I get on. It's amazing how exciting it is to buy bedlinen.....or is that just me?

Thanks again.

Have a look at their towels while you're there, HolyGuacamole.

Well, I don't have any interest in/spend any money on fashion, or hairdos, or handbags, I reckon I'm allowed a little linen porn.

HolyGuacamole · 15/06/2009 22:06

Oldlady - Bugger, I haven't looked at the towels.....and then there's table linen too.....and bathrobes, big soft cuddly ones.....arrgghh!

DH is going to be sweating over so happy with this months bank statements

The bathrobes are fabulous....

We have very nice ones that have lasted very well from both john lewis and the white company.

wolfnipplechips · 16/06/2009 17:49

just had a look because mil has a latte coloured one with piping from the white company but i can't seem to find it, i can ask her the name if you like.

HolyGuacamole · 16/06/2009 20:24

Oh yes, find out, that would be great wolf!

I need all the cotton I can get Am having trouble finding duvet cover and pillowcases at a high count in anything except plain white or cream. Am going to get the 800 count sheets, a couple of towels and a tablecloth from my pimp KoC and next month new bathrobes for DH and I. If I can't get a duvet with a latte colour, I'll get the white 800 count from KoC.

Honestly I know it is sad but I am bursting with excitement

You can dye white cotton quite easily.
