Scatty Farming is a hard life - glad DH didnt want to follow in his fathers footsteps TBH. It is nice living near the farm, but thats it for me.

Boys are in bed

I am opening the pink fizz

galen · 06/06/2009 21:03

evening all
mad about the dairy...gosh. Strangely puzzled by your earlyier question...how old were dc when they used what?? racking brain to think what I last mentioned but brain too frazzled to recall....do shed some light!
scatty sewing in garden sounds lovey
wendy enjoy wedding reception
grouchy hope finger is ok!
swan glad swimming went well
lbb enjoy whole child free wk/end
epimum hope dd had a beter day today and has a peaceful night tonight.
every-one else Hi!

last nights slepping arrangements worked well. Ds2 woke and whinged a couple of tomes but went straight back off.The three girls in the big room chatted till quite late ... but they were happy! And this morning Ds2 and dd4 were having great giggles and fun when they woke up, and I heard dd4 say "I love you baby Conall " to ds which made me smile

well had a productive day today...but also can join the ranks of grumpy shouty mummy! For some reason everything and everyone seems to be annoying me today...and in fact they havent been too bad...ah well.
But have achived a fair bit.

Done:
Had lovely lie in thanks to dh
trip to costco to join up...good , thanks for tips mad and wendy
Lunch
wrapped present for dd2 friend...DH took dd2 to party
Kitchen tidy/quick clean
Sorted DD1 and 2 wardrobe
sorted dd1 and 2 underwear drawers and made room for dd3 underwear
duted and hoovered big girls room
Dinner : ham and brocolli pasta bake
sorted out big kitchen cupboard
sorted out baking cupbaord
sorted out tins cupbaord
sorted out fridge
costco shopping away
cleared dinner stuff
swept and mopped kitchen and dining room floors
wiped down dining room skirting boards
cleaned dining room windows

oh and I even managed to get passport photos done for all Dc at costco..brilliant as I tried in a booth with Ds2 the other day and it was a disaster, all he wanted to do was push the buttons/climb around etc... 15 month olds do NOT understand "stay still and look stright ahead!" but the photographer at costco was fab and got him done in his buggy with a white towel behind him...great !

bit tired now though... and spd/ hip pain playing up due to extreme furniture moving and building... so going to chill a bit, th3en early night I think, with book reading in bed... something I've not been able to do for ages...lol

Tomorrow:
LOADS of neglected washing!
Church
DD's to Bday party pm

till tomorrow ladies

galen · 06/06/2009 21:30

oh bum spoke to soon. Poor dd1 has just come down in tears saying she cant sleep cause it just isnt right with dd3 in the room , that it is her and dd2s room ....
shes not being mean, but dd1 and 2 have been together so long, and are evry close. bless her...will have to see how it goes...now feeling a bit upset and bewildered and ...oh tired I think...
I seem to be very emotional today too...must be hormones..
think I'll just go to bed and hope tomorrow brings a calmer less emotional me and happy children content with new slepping arrangements!

swanriver · 06/06/2009 22:05

Galen, could dd3 still have ds2 and dd4's bedroom as her "playroom" space even if she sleeps in a different room?

Poor you, occasionally dd says she wishes she was back in a room with her twin and that makes me feel very sad too.

Gosh you have worked hard today! Well done on those ppphotos, mine couldn't stop laughing and grimacing or falling off stool.

Scatty, ds2 sewed his first bookmark last week at school, all in crossstitch, he was so pleased with it. I think even when we feel the day was a bit ratty, at least there is comfort in making of list of the nice things we did with dcs.

We've had a nice supper of watercress soup.
Now I am going to do some retail investigation on the internet. A whole new world for me. Suspect it will give me a headache immediately.

galen · 06/06/2009 22:14

swan yes , went in and said that to dd a while ago. Told her that her and dd2 could still play in their room, and dd3 could play in dd4 and ds room...most of the toys are sort of interchangable any way... also dd3 is a deep sleeper, so need to get the timings right so that she is asleep once dd 1 and 2 come up to bed, then they can have some time to chat/look st boks with torch etc..quietly together in bunk beds before sleeping...think this will help as they really loved their quiet, supposed-to-be-asleep chatting time I think!

and yes getting photos done is a BIG relief!

right really must go to bed....

tomorrow ladies

ABuzzardAndACowNamedTalent · 06/06/2009 23:41

TMH I'm very sorry to hear about the dairy.

I'm just about to go to bed. Nos da. Good night.

P.S. New name as an advert on the tv has pinched mine and someone on MN has a very similar one to my old one. This one should be unique, I hope. It describes what I saw on my walk with the dog yesterday.

TheMadHouse · 07/06/2009 08:16

Boys are playing in seperate rooms this morning

I have cleared up cat sick, but not much else yet.

Had a lovely lay in. Am now going to log onto 4OD and catch up with Desperate Housewives as have missed the last 2.
See you all later. Hope you all have a good day.

swanriver · 07/06/2009 09:41

Having a lazy morning, dh has just broken up a fight between dd and ds1. They are now playing on keyboard together. Ds2 is looking a large map upstairs.

We need to go to church
and I need to clear breakfast

swanriver · 07/06/2009 10:09

make lunch - gammon, new potatoes, peas and parsley sauce followed by almond cake
make cake
sweep floor
wipe table
take ds2 for a run round block
5 min rescue of playroom [again]
continue searching for the rufflette tape upstairs

scattyspice · 07/06/2009 16:10

Hi all.

Mad - Pesky boys huh?

Galen - hope things went well last night eventually

Swan - I agree, listing the days achievements does make it all feel worthwhile.

Well we've had a nice day today. Took DC into town to the opening of the new central library. It was very busy but good fun, lots of story book characters dressed up chatting to the kids (dd stalked Peter Rabbit all around the library lol).

Dh is fixing the garage door. I have made biscuits with DC and have just finished my first piece of knitting (a black and white scarf for ds, started over a year ago lol).

BBL.

swanriver · 07/06/2009 17:30

Dh did very well at church and enjoyed it - lots of first communicants so it was very child friendly
lunch was DELICIOUS and relatively harmonious
Ds2 helped me make cake in morning and buy peaches to put on top

Dcs played Ndss in afternoon for about an hour
then squabbled for the rest - so dh took to park for bike rides where they continued squabbling like crazy . Ds1 kept chanting "Coraline" at ds2 who then kept bursting into tears????

Meanwhile I took dd to B & Q where she was relatively happy, pushing trolley and filling it with bright pink lampshade, new paddling pool (£3.99 and then we joined others in park.

Now we have given up again and put a film on

Sounds like Disneyland in your own backyard Scatty.

TMH, my parents have a partshare in a dairy farm, but they don't do the actual farming. We are very much aware of all the problems. At one stage my parents were considering a cheese venture or even icecream when the quota system was dropped in Eire - the big issue there.

grouchyoscar · 07/06/2009 18:43

Hello again

Yesterday was lovely and relaxing. DHs making curry, me helping DCs make pizza from scratch and coming home with a bin liner of hand me downs from the older DS of the family. It's our shout next time.

Spent all day tackling the hotspot that is our bedroom. Basically it's strem with laundry in various ststes of progress (to do, to iron, to put away) and I needed to get a handle on it. Plus the shoes of 2 adults clutter the place up esp with a size 11 and an 8 with a fetish for DMs {blush} anyway, it's done, ironing done and PUT AWAY!

The finger is a real mess. Had a reapperance of blood at lunchtime and it WOULDN'T STOP DH in his continuation of Head Surgeon on the Victory role resorted to strapping a pad on with cellotape. Not brill but it stopped bleeding. My friend redressed it properly and I did it this morning. The tip is bruised and the cut is deep but I'll live. (|DH said if the tape failed it was supaglue )

Supper ready so I better go. Hope you've all had wonderful days

Groucy It might pay to just pop to see the practice nurse with your finger, but it sounds like a great weekend to me

Swan Yours doesnt sound too bad either

It has been one of those days when the DC just dont do as they are told. We are trying to be consistant, but it is hard.

We have:

Put the ironing away
Roast dinner - yum with kale, chard and spinich from the garden and the children ate it all
We have watched Star Wars episode 2
Put some extra fence board up and hooks to have cardboard and platic recyling
reinforced waterbutt stand
Played snap
Bounched round the garden , boys on new space hoppers I got from home bargains
Strung up the beans and peas again
Put out more bird food - stops them eating my veg
Polished master bedroom
S&S loos
Washer is on
DW is loaded
PJ on all
Books read to boys and they are ready for bed

May be back later

swanriver · 07/06/2009 19:14

something in the air, I've just been sorting out shoes. and I'm size 8 shoe too Grouchy? are you really? was that a misprint for dress size?
Bought a new slightly horrible but functional shoe drawer thing for hall from B & Q Hall is transformed!
sorted out swimming things found all googles and swim hats at last

You've done a lot TMH (as usual)what super sonic veggrowing.

Grouchy, are you taking ibruprofen for any reason, as it can stop the blood clotting and maybe why your finger won't stop bleeding?

Ds1 has written 3 thank you letters on the same piece of paper . Ah well, will have to cut them into tiny notelets. Usful spelt wrongly everytime.

Raining
Good night everybody
Sports week at school tom, so need to sort out different coloured teeshirts for dcs for the rest of week.

TheMadHouse · 07/06/2009 19:32

Swan I am eating the early leaves from around the edges, they will just grow back. Our basica's are doing great, salad not so good

We have a show thing in the tiny hall, it has hats, bags and that sort of stuff in - no shoes

Boys are in bed
DW is on
I am going to open some pink fizz - didnt last night and read a book or catch up on some TV with DH

Oh and I have to share this really cool ice lolly solution with you.

My two love home made, but they always make a mess, I cant get them out of the containers, or they are too big. Got these in Matalan (£5 for 4) and they are fantastic, they have had 4 smoothie ones and 4 milk ones over the weekend, no mess, easy to turn and just dead cool. Yes they are prices, but cheaper than buying them.

littleboyblue · 07/06/2009 19:41

Hi all. I'm going to buy a shoe rack for our ebtrance way too. It's not very practical to keep them in the wardrobe, especially as already have a million things to think about each time we leave the house. I won't even tell you how many times I have got halfway down the road and realised I'm still wearing pink fluffy slippers
Off now to finish evening routine. Dp has asked me to be quieter while ds1 falls asleep.

dylsmum1998 · 07/06/2009 20:14

evening all, we took advantage of open farm sunday today and went to a farm attached to a school and had a good nosey round. dc were fascinated that they made their own butter so we have been to tesco on way home to buy cream so we can do it at home.
dd now in bed, ds will be going in a few mins and i need to attack the mountain of ironing, will see if there is anything good on tv to watch while i do it.
i MUST get back into flying this week, have ni excuse really dc are back in school/nursery and i have no uni so flat should be spotless really

tmh lollies look good- how much did you pay, i might need to invest in some of those

lbb i have a habit of going out in slippers too, much worse when i discover i have also forgotten my keys

Jas · 07/06/2009 23:01

Evening all Anyone remember me???

I've dropped off all my regular threads as dp being (still) unemployed has wrecked my mn time, and although he is now getting lots done (old bathroom has been totally gutted, and now has a floor and walls, and there is a possibility of me getting a bedroom sometime soon)

I can't begin to try and keep up with the daily threads atm, but really miss you all

As soon as things get back to a normal routine, I will be back.

Love to you all....

Tortoise · 07/06/2009 23:25

Prof Lol! I think you will get a few odd looks!

Hello jas. Good to hear you may have a bedroom soon. And nice to see you too.
