My ds dragged a brown felt tip about 6 ft across my pale beige carpet a couple of months ago (it got stuck underneath a toy box). I used baby wipes first (very carefully so it didn't spread) then the last bit came out with Vanish carpet spray. Dh couldn't tell where it had been and he is eagle eyed in such matters!

I think hairspray might work, spray and blot it.

Oooh, I was going to suggest Vanish - IIRC when Which magazine tested carpet cleaners Vanish did well but I will go & check, hang on...

Oh sorry, not Vanish - their best one was Sainsburys equivalent, but they didn't test it on felt tip

Worryingly, I find baby wipes seem to remove most stains. Makes you wonder how they can be good for skin!

dilemma, if it won't come out, can I suggest buying permanent markers in the same colours chosen by DD & making your own beautiful permanent design instead?
