Chocolate stains all over hallway carpet

Hi all

Does anyone know how to get chocolate stains out of carpets?

My son has a very bad habit of spitting and i have chocolate spit stains all the way through my hallway carpet and up the stairs!

I have tried vanish and 1001 but it has not shifted one mark!

Sorry if this sounds very grim!

Any help would be gladly appreciated.

Not sure what formulation you are using - I find the carpet/upholstery mousse type cleaners the best. Sometimes it still looks stained and may need more than one application. However it can look better once dry and vacuumed even if it still looks slightly stained after a few attempts.
