Laundry - stain removers, which is best?

Is Tescos own alright? Just doing the weekly shop, have never used a stain remover before but DS is weaning and I think it might come in useful. Also wanted to be able to pass on some of his old clothes but they have all ended up pretty poo-stained!

I am guessing stain removers won't remove old stains, though.

Very bad I know but I use a little bit of vanish in with every wash (have other health reasons for doing so) but over time even second hand stained stuff from my sis has come up as good as new and for the weaning stuff is brilliant (and much cheaper than new clothes) DD2 is 23 months and still a VERY messy eater.

Don't have any experience of tesco own brand tho'

And definitely great for Poo, (DD2 on laxaties so still V pooey)

The sun, that is the best stain remover and it is free. Except it does not remove banana stains. I have found nothing that removes banana stains!

Doris am assuming you use the in-wash stuff rather than a spray type?

Pavlov is this leaving to dry in the sun? On a line or a windowsill or something?

Justa bottle of the vanish liquid, and a small capful in each wash with the usual powder.

( as I said before we started because of DD's health issues but will now contuinue as it gives such good results)

Stain Devils are fab. No experience of Tesco's own, though!

I used vanish today on a huge red wine stain and can thoroughly recommend

PS Stain Devil removed a two-year-old chocolate Mini Milk stain from one of DD's outgrown dresses that I wanted to give to a friend!

I had to bleach DSs cricket stuff today , my normally simply wonderful soda crystals failed on the grass stains.

Vanish bar and cold water is the best apart from for ink stains/marker pen in which case you need the specialist cleaner (file that away for when they start school). General spray on stuff I've found shout the best.
