Help me find a lovely romantic bedroom ceiling light?

Our bedroom light is modern and hideous, a bit like this yuck!

I want something a bit softer and romantic but not too big as our bedroom isn't huge. Any ideas?

What sort do you want? single pendant or something with several light bulbs in it?

SOLOisMeredithGrey · 27/05/2009 23:12

Argos one here

Thanks, that's quite nice! I'm not sure whether I want a pendant or one with a few bulbs, it's more dependant on the size. Our bedroom is a loft conversion so the ceiling is a pointy roof, so not a lot of room! Trying to doll it up.

I've seen quite a few mini chandeliers on eBay but do you think that's a bit too cringy and boudoir-ish? bearing in mind I may have to get an electrician in to fit it...

I am thinking about doing my bedroom up too...well, dreaming about it. Ikea do a glass one similar to that Argos one and very much cheaper and it's lovely(have one in my dining room). I wouldn't want the boudoir type look either, so they definitely don't look like that.

I'm trying to do mine up on a shoestring - we haven't done a thing to it yet, the bed still isn't put up because we aren't keen on it, still sleeping on the mattress, and the walls are plain white, shame we don't like the minimalist look, eh?

I've just spotted this on eBay but it's perhaps the girliest light fitting in the world, my dp might revolt!

Now that's a boudoir light fitting IMO!

JohnnyTwoHats · 28/05/2009 00:49

How about something like this?
I have seen cheaper versions this is just the first one I came across on tinterweb.

fortyplus · 28/05/2009 00:50

That looks very Laura Ashley! Try them or Christopher Wray

fortyplus · 28/05/2009 00:51

What about this one?

JohnnyTwoHats · 28/05/2009 00:53

you're right!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 28/05/2009 00:58

Ooh some lovely ones! bit pricey for me though. Yeah the one I showed you was a bit boudoir-ish, I just showed dp, he said no WAY. lol
