Well done Little Boy Blue, you got so much done yesterday!
No Links I'm afraid, waiting for technics

swanriver · 26/05/2009 09:03

Tortoise - it is now torrential here, you were lucky to escape yesterday.
I think you are amazing to go on these adventures, you and your dcs make a great team.

Done
woke early, already worrying about today's outing
quick dash to Morrisons for morning constitutional to buy some picnic food
put away tiny bit of laundry
s & s loos
Breakfasted everyone
Today is a Telly free day as is Wed.
As a result the telly has now gone on for 40 mins so that I can comb the kids' hair
Friend coming at 10 to go to Wetland Centre with me, aptly named as it is POURING, but I think it is landscaped to be a marshy misty sort of place, filled with soggy people.

All the little bits I did yesterday pm seem to have paid off, house looks vaguely presentable with clean sheets and no laundry in basket

Good luck with your trip PROF

Morning all! Hope everyone had a great BH weekend. I didn't get on here over the weekend as we had a busy weekend with visitors, but this is day 7 of babysteps and I'm finding it good.

As well as day 7 babysteps and the mission (haven't looked what it is yet) I plan to do some 15 min blasts of decluttering and list 5 items on Ebay.

washing out and back in
15 mins in the boys bedrooms, they trash them faster than I can fix em
started dinner

Still to do

pop to cash machine to pay for lessons
mop the floor
wash swimming stuff for tomorrow (duckings and taking both of them)

swanriver · 26/05/2009 15:58

We've had a wonderful trip wandering around in the surburban fens with my friend but now both sons are screaming at each other, triggered by sitting side by side in car and not tkng bus home.
Next time I will not take a lift from a friend, seems my dcs are only happy on public transport.
Dd is being charming

Now instead of quiet time fear I will have to play Disney monopoly

Supper is made already

That both couple's loved the house & commented on how clean/tidy ready to move in it looked. Both have more to see so fingers crossed. But great feed back.

Swan glad you Enjoyed trip. Have fun with disney monopoly.
Hi to dilletante shann thanks for mission. I struggle to come on thread much more now. due to RL, FB etc. Its nice yo know that we are all welcome regardless of how frequent we post
TMH hope swimming lesson goes well.

EHM · 26/05/2009 17:17

laurasmilesenjoy clothes shopping.
littleboyblue you are doing really well. you should be pleased with yourself
wendy party turned out to be cake & play so ellie enjoyed it. Brighton was very busy & no sandy beach ellie loved it. Traffic was awful instead of 90 mins took us over 3 hours to get there & just under 2 to get back. Good luck with potty training. Hope your tummy is ok. I love Durham.
scatty where's Dent?
swan forgot to ask if your neck is ok today.
wolfHi tortgreat pics
galen what a busy day you had yesterday...phew!
TMH how is the toilet training going?
maggietulliver tis nightmare without tinternet.

Off to sort tea for Ellie. We are having omlettes as I have lots off eggs to use up. We are going to Scotland tomorrow night to visit dh's & my family back sunday.

TheMadHouse · 26/05/2009 17:28

Swimming was fantastic - I am so proud on my boy. He was wonderful and the teacher comented on what a naural water baby he is

Toilet training is hard. not sure if you rememebr but DS2 was born with bowel issues and they are not helping. He wants not to wear nappies, so I will have to persive.

EHM I liked Brighton pre children, not sure it would be as much fun with them, Bornmouth is great with children - loads of sand.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you on the house front - you go girl. Enjoy Scotland, catch up when you are back.

Now off to do dinner - will be back

scattyspice · 26/05/2009 17:36

Hi girls.

EHM - Dent is in Yorkshire Dales. Very lovely.

Swan - marshy place sounds interesting.

Mad - love play dough baber shop type things.

Today
All to pot as its half term and dh is off work. He keeps starting random DIY projects (and not finishing any of them lol). Also fil in hosp and we have a complicated timetable of giving lifts to mil and visiting fil (and possibly looking after nephew). I'm worried we will get it wrong and be in trouble!

Today
took dc to newly refurbished Hancock Museum in Newcastle. it was really good (though busy). Have bought Nighttime in the Museum1 DVD to complete the experience lol.

No flying except laundry.

Try to hoover later.

galen · 26/05/2009 17:41

Afternoon all

mad glad swimming went well. You should be very proud that you have given your Ds such great confidence in the water.
swan hope you TV free day is going well
EHm have a good trip

everyone-else Hi

Today not been too bad.
VV windy, but at least not raining

Did do some major tidying upstairs earlier....then DC undid all my efforts whilst I was at the shops....
Lots of washing still to put away, lots more still to do

DH in very low mood today, sad about his dad who has not improbved since the raiotherapy, and isnt really likely to now.Trying to keep positive and calm with DC...not easy as DS2 is very sad full of cold, and dd4 just being annoying!!

Still did do a bit more gardening which always cheers me up
and bowling for 7p first thing was fun

Right, need to go sort baths I think....happy garden playing is coming to an end it seems.

Am very excited though i have booked my train to go to my sisters at weekend...yay

Bb tomorrow ladies

swanriver · 26/05/2009 18:32

Well everyone has been in various hysterics...not me of course

still haven't switched on telly since nitcombing am
and we have managed to keep our hair on whilst playing monopoly though I'm not sure whether they understand the principle of buy to let yet

dd has played kittens with me in garden
ds1 has had a nervous breakdown about sweeping up some breadsticks

dcs have all had half an hour on computer, hope that doesn't count as telly...

feel curiously relaxed - it can only get better and tomato seeds germinated

all eating meatballs

Scatty - dcs love Nights at Museum especially peeing monkey bits
EHM - well done on beautiful house

I hope they will play like yours tomorrow TMH.

wendyredkitchenredspots · 26/05/2009 19:29

hi everyone
Up most of night with dodgy tummy - just a stomach ache and no other symptoms
Otherwise ok. haven't started potty training - i need to be on top form!

mad sounds like you had a good day playing today, excellent!
swan you sound chilled out! My tomatoes took ages too - isn't it exciting growing things!
galen will look in gardening book - could it be white rust perhaps, not sure? think that looks like eggs.
scatty a friend said new Hancock very good. was good before!
shannara hi and nice to see you
prof was laughing at thought of you skidding arounds in hire car!
dil glad you're still with us and doing so well!

Well off to watch TV and try bit of toast I think (chocolate went down ok a bit ago )

scattyspice · 26/05/2009 20:38

Galen - for dh. My dhs dad is having surgery for bowel cancer today, he is expected to make a good recovery but the whole thing has come as a shock and major upset for dh family.

EHM - enjoy Scotland.

Mad - well done on the swimming. Toilet training was a nightmare for dd (it took 12 mnths! she was nearly 4 when she finally cracked it).

swan - top marks for monopoly instead of TV. Camping made me realise how much we rely on TV etc .

All done here.

Day out with nephew tomorrow (so sil and mil can visit fil), somewhere coastal hopefully.

TheMadHouse · 26/05/2009 21:05

Evening all

Scatty Must put Hancock Museum on my list of things to visit.

Wendy Hope you feel better tomorrow

galen well done on booking the train - enjoy

Tomorrow is swimming for both boys in the morning and then we are off on a Teddy Bears picnic for lunch

Tortoise · 26/05/2009 21:41

Evening all.
Not caught up on thread.
Bit of a pants day here. No electric from 12.30pm-8pm. No idea what happened but very annoying!

Luckily the weather was gorgeous again so lots of outdoor play.

Have quickly whipped up some choc fairy cakes tonight ready for friend plus 3DC coming tomorrow. Will quickly ice them in the morning when cooled!

Hope everyone is ok and had a good day.

Simply · 26/05/2009 22:19

Hello to all. I read (well, skim-read) the thread earlier and I've forgotten most of it! Sorry! I hope all are feeling okay and have a restful night tonight.

Today I have been decluttering. I filled a bag for the charity shop earlier this week and dh took it there today. I've brought down loads of clothes from the attic which I doubt I'll wear again so I'm going to be ruthless and let dd (this is going to be so difficult for me, I know it is) decide whether I can keep them or not. As she is young and trendy and most of the clothes are about 10 to 15 years old, I think they'll be heading for the recyling centre. Ah, well.

I've got to empty (into the centre at least) two bedrooms tomorrow ready for the painter. That'll keep me out of mischief. I've sorted out a pile of stuff for a family member to have if she wants. If she doesn't, I'll offer it to another family member and if she doesn't want it then it'll go to the charity shop.

Sorry for the essay.

See you tomorrow! Nos da.
