harpic toilet cleaner and taps

Please can someone help.
I mistakenly put Harpic toilet cleaner on my taps and now they are marked.
It looks like water marks.
Hubbie says it's the hydrochloric acid - he is a scientist??|
Question now is how I remove the marks - any ideas?

Is it that Harpic in a black bottle?

I used this on something chrome and it permanantly marked / damaged it.

Check the bottle. When I checked mine afterwards it did say do not use on chrome.

Sorry to hear that

I stopped buying the product in case DH did the same thing as me, or in case I just used it agian without thinking. luckily i only used it on a old tap in thr kitchen which will be replaced at some point (though not sure when)
