..and how do you stop it going manky? I've tried several different kinds of cloth and sponges and no matter how well you rinse them out, after a few days they just stink and go all disgusting. It can't be hygeinic to wash up with cloths like this. We do have a dishwasher which does most of it but there are always things you need to wash up by hand.

I use kitchen towel for surfaces

I put the washing up sponge in the dishwasher, in the evening, practically sterile when it comes out

oh what an exciting life I lead

I chuck the cloth or sponge in the wash basket at the end of each day

Rarely, we do washing with a sponge cloth, hang it on tap to dry, thrown away once a week.

Wiping down always with Mr Muscle spray and a piece of kitchen paper. If I have been cooking with somethng like raw chicken. I use a little dilute bleach instead of Mr Muscle.

I do most in the dishwasher too - I have a scrubbing brush for pots and pans. Use microfibre cloths for wiping down surfaces which I chuck in the washing machine...

I use a cloth to wipe down surfaces with either Dettol or bleach.

To wash up I use a scourer sponge you know the cheap things with the green wiry bit on top.

Have larege quantity of j cloths, teatowels, dishcloths etc. change them every day and wash as a load in the washing machine once a week

I use a dishwasher but use a washing up brush for any handwashed dishes, then an E-cloth for the surfaces. Rinsed out properly in hot soapy water then draped over the tap it dries out between uses so does not smell, plus I've got a whole load of them so I change them every day or so.

I use a scrubbing brush to wash the dishes. Use J Cloths for worktops, sink etc. Microwave on full for a minute after each use (kills the germs apparently, in any case I just do it as routine). Clean the bin every couple of days with the J Cloth after which I throw it away.

I use all purpose cloths to wipe down sticky finger marks off paintwork, walls, do the sills in the conservatory, then throw away.

A dishcloth for those things that don't go in the dishwasher and this will go in a hot wash and after a week will get thrown away. I use the dishcloth to wipe the kitchen surfaces down with or sometimes if I have been say baking, I will spray and wipe with kitchen paper first.

Oh and I soak the dishcloths in bleach sometimes if like Marla I am running low.
