not really helping but when my dh was at home for 2 months when he got made redundant i got nothing done.everyone said it must be nice to have him home to help out and i have never been so behind with housework, nor have the kids ever been so badly behaved as they were for those long long 8 weeks.

thank you for saying that, my dc are being an absolute nightmare, they hate me and want daddy constantly, dont know how they are going to react when he gets a job. I thought it would be so chilled but we all seem more stressed.

Why don't you get DH to take the kids to park/school run etc so you can mn in peace get the housework done

I use the slatterns thread which i find helps keep me motivated and i have a list of jobs on my kitchen cupboard too, which basically reads;

Daily jobs:
empty dishwasher
put washing on
sweep hall etc

Monday:
Hoover downstairs
Dust downstairs
Empty bins

Tuesday:
Babybounce at library
Clean bathroom
Mop floors

Etc,etc..... So basically have your list of everyday jobs, and then split the rest up into each day, so if you are sat there thinking 'where do i start?' look at your list and go from there. I tend to split it 3 things a day as it doesn't look too daunting.

Of course i am not a flylady so to me it is not the be all and end all if i clean the bathroom a day late or do bugger all on a friday. Don't get me wrong, flylady seems great, but it isn't for me i am a slattern through and through

Oops, forgot to add that on my list i put on things like toddler group, stay and play, as it takes up my morning, so put less to do that day

again still not helping but when dh does get a job dcs will be worse and hate you- sorry but at least you'll be prepared. Think there should be a Panorama programme on mothers 'the hidden victims of the recession'.

Why don't you talk to him and set aside cleaning 1 1/2 hours in the morning.
Also make a list of things you normally get done E.G cleaning loft etc.. and treat it like a job.
I have a school teacher all summer yep! your right it doesn't quite run as smoothly. I go to the park while he does DIY
