HELP! im moving house nexr weekend.

and i don't know where to start.

im only going 5 minutes down teh road and will have to do it all myself so im just going to hire a van.
i havem't got a clue. your top organisational hints and tips will be most gratefully recieved.

start putting things in boxes.
All your 'decorative items' and out of season clothes, spare bedding etc can be done asap.
label the boxes with contents
make sure they aren't too heavy to lift

remember to tell banks, schools, gp, gas, elec, phone, child benefit, tax credit, work etc

Make sure the kids beds, bedding etc are last on the van, so they have somewhere to sleep the first night without too much hassle. Pack and label a box with first night basics i.e. the kettle etc.

Box and label each room.

If you are a hoarder, be ruthless and recycle or take stuff to the charity shop.

Spend less time on MN and do it!

Not much in the way of suggestions bar the bleedin' obvious, but I share your pain

oh, and it doesn't matter where you start...just start...fill one box, then you will be on a roll!

Oh & Morrisons banana boxes are ace free boxes for packing. They have a hole in the bottom over which you tape a lego baseboard or sizeable book, but otherwise well sized & our local Morrisons has an inexhaustible supply.
