Help! washing question

I bought a new pair of black jeans on saturday, there is an odd smell coming from them, I can best describe it as an irony smell ( the dye perhaps?) I have just washed them, the smell is still there plus its made my other washing smell of it too!
Anyone know how to get rid of the smell?

I know waht you mean, I have a pair, also black that smell like a sweaty mechanic has been wearing them 24/7

The smell won't go. Believe me I have tried!!

If you can't put up with it, you may as well throw them out.

Yes, thats what it reminds me of! bloody horrid,I'll keep them til pay day then get rid, shame they fit me lovely
