Help! I have a dead mouse (I hope) behind my kitchen cupboards

There's no way of getting to it, short of ripping out the cupboards, and the smell is getting worse! Any tips on how to mask it? Is it worth getting Rentokil in, do you think? Will that cost an arm and a leg?

Just leave it.
After a few days the smell will go away.

What you need to concentrate on is getting rid of all the other mice that are no doubt stomping around your kitchen...

Are you sure you need to take all the cupboards out - can you just not take the skirting board bit off along the front?

Ick. I think you might be right though, claricebeansmum. I've just discovered a tiny dead mouse under the microwave...
DP is taking off the skirting board tomorrow, but he's got to promise to put it back so they can't get in to the kitchen. I'm absolutely petrified of scuttling things!
Can I put poison down if I've got kids? (I'm thinking not!)
