If you have a cleaner, how many hours per week??

We have had cleaners in the past but not for over a year and never in our current house.

I am wondering how many hours a week you have your cleaner for and what she manages to do in this time!

We have large 3 bed detached house with lots of wooden floors which will need hoovering, mopping etc but at the same time we are very tidy so no need to declutter etc. We have two bathrooms so I guess that takes extra time as well.

I was thinking 2 hours a week (takes me about this long) and then maybe 4 hours once a month, or every 6 weeks to do extra chores such as cleaning inside kitchen cupboards etc...

The cleaning company are coming to quote on Friday and I want to be armed with sensible advice!

I would be thinking a minimum of 6 hours per week - 4 would be a real push.

I have just been quoted £58 by a cleaning company for a 4 bed 2 bathroom.

Had cleaners for years but not one for the last couple - was at the price tbh

also - think cleaning companies quote for the job rather than the hour

Large, messy 4 bed house with wooden floors throughout & 2 bathrooms. Takes our cleaner 3 hours (once a wek) to give it a bit of a tidy and a good clean. If I could, I'd have her twice a week (then my house would look like a show home!) but too pricey.

My house sounds like it's about the same size as yours.

My cleaner does 5 hours a week - 2 hours ironing, 3 hours cleaning. She doesn't change the beds though.

All very interesting - keep it coming!

Sonnet - I am also as last time we had a cleaner it was only £5/hour!

2 hours/ week.

kitchen/ bathrooms/ hoover all (=5 beds + 2 staircases).
No beds or tidying or ironing ( I do all that! alledgedly)

£9/hour to cleaner, another ?£2 or so to company.

My cleaner does 24 hours a week! She's a bit more than a cleaner - more like a housekeeper.

hf - a housekeeper would be brilliant! you lucky thing! I don't think my DH will stretch to that lol!
