We've had our puppy for a week and he is being housetrained needless to say there are a lot of patches of carpet that have been cleaned and it all looks uneven and horrible.

I read in a dog book to use biological washing powder mixed with hot water to clean the wee patches, I didnt have bio so used non bio all down my hallway and its left white patches from the washing powder. I am not worried it has bleached the carpet or anything it seems more powdery than anything else.

I dont actually own a mop... I have 2 rooms with laminate floors and sweep and clean them on hands & knees with clothes when needed.

I am going to go out to ASDA today & buy a mop the kind with lots of bits on it not the flat kind, to clean my carpets with. Sound good?

Sorry can not help with that one but I can really reccommend a product called Simple Solution.

You can get it at Pets at Home. It is fantastic for cleaning up those little puddles and contains something that stops them from going in that place again. It also smells lovely, really fresh and fragrant. You can use it on wooden floors, lino, laminate and carpet. Fab stuff!

Good Luck!

we are at the same stage with our puppy,
would you not be better hiring/borrowing a carpet cleaning machine to do it??
i dont know how you going to clean a carpet with a mop???
we just use a cloth and anti-bac spray to clean up after our puppy,am holding off for a month or so until he is def well past that stage before i shampoo it properly,

Yes I think I will do the whole carpets when he is trained!

I used to have a cleaner who got spots off my carpet with a mop.
