Crayon on cream walls

My DD has drawn on my recently painted cream walls. What is the best way to get it off? i am happy to paint over it, but i am worried that as soon as the paint dries, it will show through again.

Apparently there is this magic sponge type thing you can get in the supermarket which gets it off with no big deal.

Not sure what its called, but someone will come along and name miracle item soon I'm sure !

Get a Flash Eraser from the supermarket or sometimes the £1 shop. That will definitely get it off.

You could try a piece of dry bread first though. Just rub it over the mark. I've never tried this, but I have heard many times of others doing it.

A flash eraser will work but try it on a hidden area first as it makes a chalky residue on some paints.

Tumble dryer sheets will get it all off.

I have just tried babywipes - not a chance, there is a lot of crayon. Was going to try flash eraser when i get to town tomorrow.

mrsmaidamess does it really work? i don't use them, but if it works will get some (may be helpful for future!)

Yes it does work. And smells nice too. I got mine from the pound shop.

OOh, we have just had a new pound shop open and i haven't been in yet. (i can see this starting a dangerous addiction, i'm going to turn into my mother! )

Spray furniture polish works wonders - just spray it on and it should wipe off with little effort (works best on vinyl/silk emulsion rather than matt but worth a try if it is matt). No idea how I discovered this but DD was a devil at crayoning on the walls unitl quite recently so it must have been from desperation. I keep a can of value polish for this very reason!

A magic eraser (same as flash eraser?) made by JML, got from Dyas, brilliant on walls and also really good on stainless steel as well.

Thanks all. I looked in town for magic eraser thingy yesterday but couldn't find them, have got furniture polish so will give that a go next, will definitly look up the crayola website though

Flash Eraser's are available in every supermarket I've looked in alicecrail.

I can second wd40. Worked a treat on my walls. Don't use on matt walls though, think it leaves a grease mark.

I don't think they are more than £1.40 alice and if memory serves, you get a double pack anyway. Tip for you. Break a smallish piece off and just use that piece(the end inch). I think you can use it over and over again, but if it's a relitively small area you're cleaning(and with crayon it's waxy so will probably leave a coating on the sponge)I found it a good idea to do this.

But spray some hair spray on a duster and then wipe the crayon it will come straight off

On How Clean Is Your House? they squirted hair spray onto crayon and it came off with a wipe - worth a try? But having said that - they weren't getting it off of wall paper - I can't remember what it was but something like a table.

i saw how clean in your house once and they aimed a hairdryer at the crayon and then wiped it off with a damp cloth- kim and aggie had all the kids doing it - looked easy as pie- of course have never tried this myself

That sounds cool. I have, however got most of the crayon off with tumble dryer wipes although most of the paint has come with it, but at least if i paint over now the crayon shouldn't come through
