bunk bed with cot?

Anyone ever seen a bunk bed with a cot as the bottom part? Needed for 6 month old and 4 yr old siblings who will have to share a small room

Never seen one.

Closest I can think of would be a high sleeper bed with the cot underneath IYSWIM?

And then a mattress on the floor underneath when youngest grew out of the cot?

Never seen one. I had the same issue so kept DD2 in a cot in my room until 1 year. At 12 months, I moved her to the bottom bunk of the bunk bed with a bed guard up and a trundle bed underneath the bottom bunk pulled out. We never had any problems with her falling out. Could you do that?

i remember when i was little and we had a caraven (im talking 25 years ago though)

we had a special cot that went under the caravan bunk bed which i slept on...

it wasnt that big (smaller than a normal cot) ...

i reckon a high sleeper with a cot underneath is your best bet, or, as others have said cot in your room then into bottom bunk with bed guard

Yes, get a loft bed or high sleeper with enough room to put a cot underneath. We have two similar to this and there is definitely plenty of space for a cot underneath. Just make sure you measure the height of the ceiling as it can get a bit tight up there...

Expensive but adaptable

Just a thought though, Normal bunk beds / high sleepers are normally recommended for 6 years +, would you be happy with a four year old sleeping in that?? You can get shorty bunk beds (lower than normal bunk beds / loft beds) for 4 years + - but they wouldn't be tall enough to get a cot in underneath.

How about if you get a normal bunk bed but don't put the slatted bit for the mattress in the bottom one, put the cot in there instead?

have a look at this in the NCT catalogue - sounds like what you were asking about but looks pricy for what it is. TBH I'd be tempted to go for the high sleeper/bunk bed option.

i saw pne of those in real life yesturday at the southern baby and toddler show

they are extreamly short (95cm i think) and not sure that even an 18month old would fit comfortably in

we had space issues with our boys and we brought a set of shorty bunkbeds from argos,
assembled it but minus the bottom slats and sides then the cot slid under (watch your head i was forever bashing it on the top bunk part!

we also fixed it to the wall for extra safety

Hi, can you tell me did this work? Was the bunk bed still stable without the bottom bed slates - we are considering having to do this ourselves, but just a bit nervous as the bunks shake about as it is if I am trying to make the top bunk!

I saw this in living etc. they used a thuka bunk bed (we have them, are ace) and placed a cot underneath. Hang on let me find the picture.

You might then be able to leave out the slats for the bottom bed and stand a cot in it - less likelihood of bumped head, but you would have to be careful about unsuitable toys four year olds being dropped into cot from top bunk!

This www.billi-bolli.com/loft-bed-adjustable-by-age.html#&panel1-7 is very expensive but shows an adjustable "bunk" bed with cot under. The bed is not too high off the ground and has big guard rails that might be more suitable for a four year old!
