oil on my favourite top...

I slopped a whole load of olive oil onto a tshirt about ten days ago and have been looking for a dry cleaners but haven't found one (we're in foreign lands...). I haven't washed it because I know dry-cleaning works better if you haven't but now I'm getting antsy to wear it.

Would I be very silly to wash it?

I would rub into the stain dish washing liquid after dampening it, it should help break down the oil - all this is only if the top is washable.

Seconded - use washing up liquid and hot water before washing as usual

Should have said NEAT washing up liquid then hot water.....

Those little specialist by stain devils are fab!!! It gets out grease/oil even after the item has been washed.

Thanks for your answers superwomen!

I tried the washing up liquid and wash trick and it worked perfectly.

So happy because it's the only top that 'works' with my 6-months-preg boobies.

Going to get one of those stain devils too Cargirl, next time I'm back in civilization.
