For those of you with coal fires.....

What do you use to clean the coal dust marks on your carpets/rugs? Ive tried loads of things and there is still a big dark patch on my light coloured carpet.

Vanish Carpet remover has worked for us but we've now switched to wood fires instead as they don't leave as much mess.
