Fridge help

At the bottom of my fridge there is a drain hole and a little pokey thing. Not sure if it is meant to be in the hole or not.

On the back of the fridge is like a box for catching fluid.

It bloody stinks. Why is it all there and why is it needing cleaning out so much?

Sounds like the hole is blocked...use poky thing to poke it and wipe up with kitcen roll?

Is there any residue dropping down into it?

The little tray usually as liquid in it and it stinks. DH has cleaned it out now and thinks we might need a new fridge, .

I do poke the hole through but it just means stuff drips down into the tray.
