DH and I can't agree on anything. Have just bought some pictures from ebay but know he'll hate them. Inspire me.

Bit difficult to describe really, but we bought some original oil paintings in Greenwich market last year. They are the colours of our dining room and kitchen.

In the hall, going up the stairs, we have water colours of our favourite place in the world. Highlands of Scotland and in the front room, we have an original painting by DD! Tis the most wonderful abstract, perfect for our living room.

Pencil sketches of statues in the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.

tatty old Union flag that I need to hang one day

All I ever buy is butterflies and DH hates them. We have a lot of empty walls.

we have in our front room a doug hyde print - the family. We got it from here and i love it - they do contemporary art n stuff.......

janeite · 17/04/2009 22:07

I would love some proper 'art' but the only one I had (a teeny tiny watercolour) 'disappeared' when we moved house; tis probably in a box in the loft somewhere.

I'm just getting some tapestries framed (on by my mum, one bought); we also have a few pieces I've put together myself, including a Jane Austen inspired one in the downstairs loo and some nice homemade framed bits in the dds' rooms.

Other than that it's mostly framed posters, including a 'Breakfast At Tiffany's' print and a couple of pre-Raph prints.

painting my mate did of frogs mounting each other

thumbwitch · 17/04/2009 22:12

A complete rag-tag collection apart from my sitting room which has just the one original oil painting, a bit abstractish, of moonlight through a pine forest. Unframed, one of those canvases that is on block frame and is painted on the sides as well. ONce that went up, couldn't possibly put anything else up in the same room.

Other rooms - posters of owls, penguins; pastel flower pictures; watercolour flowers, meadowscapes; original small oils of Venice; original pencil drawings, cartoons.

Mspontipine · 17/04/2009 23:12

In my downstairs loo (get me!) I have a lovely picture of a frog sitting on the loo reading the newspaper. I love it - my mum bough it as a moving in present for me for my lovely new house.

We've got cobwebs too. I hope I've heard they're fashionable.

thumbwitch · 17/04/2009 23:43

Cobwebs are fab - I'd rather have spiders in my house than flies/wasps/mosquitoes etc.

SuziSeis · 17/04/2009 23:47
