dog wee on the carpet

We looked after a friends dog and it wee'd on my cream wool rug. I tried 1001 carpet cleaner , it just made it worse by turning stain browner. Does anyone have any tips?

Biological washing powder helps get the smell out, not sure about the stain but it's worth a try.

M ix some up in a bowl of warm water and the rub the stain with a white cloth.

Thank you , I will try. It doesn't smell particularly, it is just a nasty brownish colour, in a place where I can't cover it up, of course

My tip is don't look after other people's dogs. Many dogs will wee in an unfamiliar house when they never do at home.

WRT the rug, unless it is very valuable or precious, I'd bin it and invest in a new one.

If only I had known that before!
