DH's dog coming to live with us! Help me prevent my house smelling of dog.

We've lived abroad for a few years and DH's parents very kindly looked after the dog but it's time to have him back. I am not a dog lover and really do not like the smell of dogs. Tips on keeping a fragrant non doggy house required! I have already told DH that the dog needs to be regularly bathed and groomed but any other top tips?

PurpleDuck MMmmm greyhound farts! I know them well! Other than that he doesn't smell unless wet.

Greyhound farts - same with all hound breeds.

Its what my mother always used to coyly call "houndy tummy".

My dog is very old and a bit prone to be smelly, lavish use of john Freida products at bath time makes him much nicer.

He's a lab. We've had "the talk". I will have to do some of the walking. DH wants me to get to the stage where I can enjoy him - that's never going to happen.

Labs are such beautiful dogs you will fall in love with him.
They are so gentle and brilliant with children.
Dogs are pack animals so do not shut him outside in a kennel or the garden unless you can bear to have two dogs
My friend whose home is always spotless and odour free has two labs.
She uses a special dog shampoo, conditioner and type of eau de cologne spray
Afraid my lab gets a quick wash from the back yard tap after swimming in the sea.
Above mentioned friend was adamant the dogs would sleep outside as was usual where her family came from abroad.
Now they have the run of the house.
If you can replace the carpet
good luck
