I dont understand whats wrong with a hoover!! surely these are just a gimic ?!!

Yes , like a washing machine is a gimic - why dont people just beat thier washing on a stone for goodness sake?

I got one and it took FOREVER to clea our living room - did an good job but drove me mad seeing t go over arund the same area for ages until it actually got to the visible mess.

I'd rather do it in 2 mins myself - sorry.
but there was a thread a while ago raving about them ,

I was thinking about using it when I was on the school run every morning - I think it would irritate me to watch it or trip over it if I was in the house ;)
we have laminate or tile all through so seamed a good option -

I'd love one of these - I get fed up of having to get the hoover out to clean up crumbs from DS3............so rarely bother - a Roomba would solve all my problems as I could sit here MNing while it did it's thing

I have one and love it - gets floors and carpets really clean. You can put it on when you go out, and floor is lovely and clean when you get back.

Ours does the living room at 3 in the morning. I dont need to watch him going round in circles and I come down to a vacuumed floor. Fabulous. At other times I just shut it in a bedroom and leave it to do its thing (I say it, hes called Bobski )

How do these things work if you have hard floors and rugs? Can they switch between the two?
