Tort HELLO!
scatty have a good day x
Luda the birdtables were both great

I have just come home from school drop off to find a message on my answer phone from the hospital requesting I go in for my MRI scan today at 5.30 NO WAY I can go then - far too short notice to get myself the 20miles to the hosp and sort kids supper etc Want to get on with it all but it's just not enough time to get myself in teh right frame of mind for the 40mins stuck in an MRI scanner

Dd has been left at school crying because we had a silly fall out over breakfast this morning

Kids finish school at 1.30 so I'm looking forward to that Hopefully teh sun will come out and we'll all be able to go and have ice-creams at the park

Very tired and weepy for some reason so am off to busy myself with something...

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 03/04/2009 09:19

Good to see you back TMH
EHM thanks for thread - hope dd is feeling brighter
Scatty wendy hope your little ones feel better soon

have got alot done this morning but have to get a move on with the ironing.

DS2 and I are out for coffee soon. BBL.

Oh yes.. DH bought one of those electricity meters to see how much we use our resting rate is about £30 a month - this is for the fridge, freezer, fishpond pump, router & box for computer, cooker, central heating pump etc.

Shocked at how much extra the kettle & microwave use, the dishwasher and washing machine are scarey but a must.

better turn puter off now I know how much it costs

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 03/04/2009 09:21

x posts bianca sorry you are feeling blue today.. is there no way someone else can help with the children so you can get to the MRI?

swanriver · 03/04/2009 09:22

Glad your mum's there Wendy.

TMH you must be feeling so fed up. Hoping you are having a nice cup of tea at least.

Scatty, how did dh's walk go?

EHM-away for ten days as didn't go at Xmas. My sister's children are near in age so they all play happily, mouch around together (teenage element). But dh is joining us later, I can't bear it when we all leave together and prefer to do flight singlehandedly and leave him to lock up check windows etc at his leisure. And he brings anything we have forgotten

Had a very jolly visit from cousin, who enjoyed the leeks!!!Finding that the "what's for dinner?" part of flyroutine makes it much easier to have unexpected guests.

Now I need to
buy presents for teachers - flowers
do all washingup from last night
definitely buy catfood
put away toys in frontroom
s & s bathrooms
pick up duvet from laundry
pick up drycleaning
give excess food to neighbour
write note for milkman
get some money
our bedroom

Pickup at 1.10 so need to perservere and focus.

swanriver · 03/04/2009 09:27

I would feel just like you Bianca, "this is impossible to organise", BUT you may find there is someone local who could give the kids supper for you if you say it's an emergency and you would love to have their dcs over for supper another day? It is so difficult to ask but you could always try and then give up and tell hospital it IS impossible.

BiancaCastafiore · 03/04/2009 09:29

I have left a message at the MRI unit (answerphone) and said I can't go today - am regretting it already as I really want to get on with it all...just not sure I could drive myself there (through Oxford at rush hour on a Friday) and then face the scan on my own My dad would probably drive me if I asked him but I think I'd be better driving myself tbh as I have to focus on the driving rather than panicking about it all... Not sure who I could ask to have the kids and it's probably too late now anyway as I've gone and left the stupid message saying I can't go....

really fed up. Could just spend the morning sobbing at my own inability to get anything right ever

swanriver · 03/04/2009 09:38

They will give you another scan, another day, sounds as if it was not meant to be, today. After all, it must be a late cancellation from someone who was finding it as difficult as you to organise, so you are not hopeless at all.

swanriver · 03/04/2009 09:40

It's also so frustrating thinking there is no-one to help in an emergency, that makes one feel very blue and alone.

dylsmum1998 · 03/04/2009 09:52

thanks for all the lovely ideas for dd's birthday, will give them a go.

tmh hope you had a restful night.

sagacious · 03/04/2009 10:06

Have a good day all

BiancaCastafiore · 03/04/2009 10:18

I have gone ahead and booked todays appointment.
So worried now. The journey and the scan terrify me

I need to get it over with though

swanriver · 03/04/2009 10:34

Could you just do the journey in your head step by step, instead of looking to the final destination. A series of familiar little hops rather than a big frightening journey? (I so sympathise with the driving thing btw)And the same with the hospital, it's just a building, with doors, and people like a school or workplace, and they are just going to check something just like you might check your clothes in a shop to see if they fit. Imagine what you are Scatty going to work (I don't know if Scatty works in hospital but anyway) and just doing something you do everyday.
I think when I am frightened or anxious I try to blot out the thing completely, which is not a good method, better to try and rethink it.

Best of luck, and enjoy icecreams in park as well.

sagacious · 03/04/2009 10:43

WELL DONE BIANCA

I don't usually shout but thought it merited it !

galen · 03/04/2009 11:11

Morning all
mad hope you had a restful night and are doing OK
ehm thanks for thread. Hope DD soon better
wendy glad you got your antivirals - hope they help and you're soon feeling better. Hopefully you can get CP out of way now, and cook up a baby next month!Good luck with your keys - so exciting! Hope your feeling well enough to enjoy !
sag sorry about poorly DD - hope shes soon on the mend
bianca I know how you feel. I get stressed about facing certain things - but you will feel SO much better to get it over with.Hope scan and journey go OK. And hope you have a nice afternoon with the DC. If DC are going to the hosp with you could you buy them something for supper at the hospital ? They often have cafes that aren't too expensive ( maybe not the bast food in the world but wouldnt hurt for once)
greyskull I'm always trying to cut down gas and elec....and usually failling!
Dyls I have totally lost touch with the zones - need to do some serious re-FLy establishing I think....but need to get through Easter first!
swan hope you get everything sorted.

We've just got back from DS1 and DD1's performance. It was really good and really moving. DS1 had been up since 4.30 am with nerves - and he is never normally nervous about anyhting!
He had to sing the first song of the show - a solo. He was brilliant - I was so proud! DD1 did great too. Feeling quite emotional still!

Sadly house seems to be in a worse state than I realised so lots to do today. Not sunny here so garden wont distract me....but I do have more baking to do....really need to crack on I think...
will BBL with a list once I've finalised it LOL (love the bunnies! LOL)

galen · 03/04/2009 11:14

Oh what happened to the bunnies....they were there a minute ago.... honest...I'm not going mad really!

Oh swan you've just reminded me about presents for teachers....aaarrrggghhh

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 03/04/2009 13:07

ooh am loving the bunnies

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 03/04/2009 13:08

well done bianca

BiancaCastafiore · 03/04/2009 13:09

Thanks

Tortoise · 03/04/2009 13:14

Hello.
Not been very good at popping in on the thread.

DD's had their Easter bonnet parade today, very sweet.

I have had a headache since yesterday. So am having a rest! End of term thank goodness! I think we are all tired out. I haven't been sleeping well and feeling a bit low.

Bianca Hope scan goes ok later. And well done for keeping the appointment.

EHM Hello

Very cute bunny smilies! I like the and best.

BiancaCastafiore · 03/04/2009 13:17

Hi Tort
Hope you're feeling brighter soon. Dh is working late (8-9ish) this eve so if I'm not too late home myself I'll try to get on here if you're about x
Off to collect the kids now - hooray for the end of term!

Wolfcub · 03/04/2009 13:29

Seriously though if there is anything I can do just let me know.
