"dry clean only". No way am I taking a stinking (because dog wee does stink) wet huge throw to the dry cleaners. Would I be able to wash it, maybe on a short 30 min 30degree cycle or a wool or delicate wash?

NOOOOOO!!!!!!

I (stupidly) washed a chenille throw and it shed. I washed it on my machine's "hand wash" cycle.

It shed more than a hairy fat dog in the hottest summer in the world. Ever.

I am still sometimes cleaning up its sheddedness and I binned it two years ago.

Either get it dry cleaned or just bin it

and kick the dog

Well it's an old one anyway, and we got it free, MIL works for a company that puts the fringes on throws for debenhams, M&S, next etc. it had a slight fault so she got it cheap. it was on teh bed and he peed on teh side of the bed - thankfully on a metal leg, but the throw took most of it!
