I can either get.

  1. A New bed and Matress, a smaller bed would make sense in our tiny room and i may actually get some sleep as our current matress is horrible. Would also get storage bed as again our room is tiny and i need more storage. This is the middle price range option as it would be a memory foam matress.
  1. New Bedroom furniture set (wardrobe, 5 draws and 2 bedside tables), again for the storage thing and all ours is falling apart, i find it hard to sleep as our room is so cluttered through lack of storage. This is the cheapest option.
  1. Washer/dryer and Dishwasher, this is by far the most expensive option for us as the washer/dryer would have to be condenser. However it would save me some time as i am currently doing about 2-3 loads of washing up a day!

What would you choose?

Go for the bed option, i always think i can cope with anything the day wants to through at tme as long i have had a good nights sleep

MitchyInge · 23/03/2009 11:37

washer dryer and dishwasher, easily

lucysmam · 23/03/2009 11:38

I, personally would go for the furniture for your bedroom! We have a 5 drawer unit (slowly falling to bits) & a hanging thingumy in the back bedroom that fil built so would kill for something nice that's not falling to bits or made of random planks of wood & a broom handle. Oh and I forgot about the end bit of my old wardrobe before it fell apart.

The wardrobe I want is beautiful though . . . 5 doors, all mirrored with storage boxes on top of it & 6 drawers under the part with doors. It's kind of an antiquey effect pine & is lovely. But, it's £500 so not a prayer of getting it

FAQinglovely · 23/03/2009 11:39

washer dryer and dishwasher.

I couldn't live without mine.

benfmsmum · 23/03/2009 11:42

I agree with jumping beans - a good night sleep is most important in my book (although I rarely get one myself!!)

FAQinglovely · 23/03/2009 11:44

but if she also finds it hard to sleep because of the cluttered room even a bed with storage underneath isn't go to solve all of that problem - so she could still end up with a cluttered room that she can't sleep in

procrastinatingparent · 23/03/2009 11:45

Dishwasher, every time.

I hope no one ever makes me choose between DH and my dishwasher, because I would have to think about it.

CharleeInSpring · 23/03/2009 11:56

Lol i am keen on the dishwasher! My kitchen is always a tip becuase of the amount of dishes that always need doing! Its the most expensive option though, i have 2 spaces for apliences so i would have to get a washer/dryer to replace my seperates at the moment, and it would have to be a condenser which will cost about £500 plus another £200 for the dishwasher. Plus delivery!

We will also qualify for a Family Fund grant later in the year so i may ask for the washer/dryer/diswasher combo then and maybe opt for one of the others to pay for myself?

Dp is useless he wants a new t.v and a PS3 but thats not going to happen!

I have a washer dryer that is a condenser, TBH I think it is a rubbish dryer and don't use it unless I have too. They just are not as efficient as a normal dryer, but I don't have the room for both. Could not manage without my dishwasher. I have a memory foam mattress and every night when DP and I climb in we sigh with bliss at the comfort of it. It is out of this world!

mumdebump · 23/03/2009 12:32

New bed and mattress!!! You can cope with all the other inconveniences much better after a good night's sleep. Ours needs replacing and our sleep is suffering because of it.

BTW I would consider these items necessities not luxuries. Was expecting to see a choice of Hi-tech gadgets or Persian rugs!

mumdebump · 23/03/2009 12:35

Having just posted that I remember what our life was like before dishwasher so maybe you should go for that and reclaim about 2 hours of your day.

FourArms · 23/03/2009 18:17

Could you just relocate your tumble dryer to a different area, and get the dishwasher and keep your current washing machine? Then also maybe get the new bed, but keep your existing mattress to save money?

FourArms · 23/03/2009 18:17

Ahh, see current mattress is rubbish. Well, perhaps new mattress too then.

helsbels4 · 23/03/2009 18:23

Tis too tricky. I can't decide what I'd choose as I would really like all of those! (Well not the condensor dryer because I have one of those already. Don't like it as much as my old ordinary one though). What a dilema? .

CharleeInSpring · 23/03/2009 18:23

I can't locate my tumble dryer sadly as i have a teeny, tiny home. I was thinking about getting a table top dishwasher but it would still nedd plumbing in and thats what i don't have space to do!

I don't want to get a washer/dryer as i know they have a bad rep but im running out of holes!.........

I am tempted by the bad especially now since i have a sickness bug and feel icky.

mumdebump · 23/03/2009 22:37

'Tempted by the bad' eh? Don't worry mumsnetters are the souls of discretion!

nannyL · 24/03/2009 09:09

id choose a comfy bed as u spend so many hours a day in it and deserve to be comfy...

would never get a washer dryer as most of them are rubbish at drying , and make do with a washer and dishwasher

OR how aboput a dishwasher and new mattress? i assume u already have a washing machine

FeelingLucky · 24/03/2009 20:36

Bed and mattress for sure. You spend a third of your life sleeping

I currently have a seperate washing machine and tumble dryer they are currently in the 2 spaces i have, thats why i was going to go for the washer/dryer in one and get a dishwasher.

I have to have a Tumble Dryer i can't have wet or damp clothes in the house becuase of DS's illness.

I have yet to find a review for a good washer/dryer so i guess that option is out, i am destined to have to wash up several times everyday!

I think i will go with the BED and Matress.
