EEK! Bird in the loft - any advice?

I was sure I could hear noises from the loft and so I sent DH up to have a look. There's a bird up there. Any tips on how to catch it safely and without stressing it too much?

We guess there must be a gap that it got in through, so DH is going to have a look at sealing it up (after we know the bird is out!).... does anyone have experience of a similar thing - and how did you solve it???

geta big towel/blanket. then try and get it trapped in a corner and carefully cover and pick it up. helpful if you h ave a box or something to shut it in too whilst you get it down from the attic
