Ok ant thread reminded me that I need to ask for help, I have a slug problem, I have no idea where they get in but once I came in late and there were 13 in my kitchen, dh even found one in the fridge

They are all over the cat food and also in the lounge although not as often. Is there anything I can do to stop them, they make me feel sick.

salt melts stops them.

in the fridge??? that is quite alarming!!!
i have had them in our kitchen a few times but would faint if i found one in the fridge. we put salt liberally about wherever we suspected they might be getting in (eg behind washing machine) and haven't had (well, seen) one in a long time.

yuck, I hate slugs.

Stop up all gaps with some sort of filler.

Vile vile vile slimy useless lumps

Move house.

I would HAVE to.

I've heard that they're a symptom of damp. We get them in our kitchen when the drain outside gets blocked with leaves and it gets a bit wet out there. Get rid of the damp and the snails should follow.
